  1. We're keeping it pretty small.. about 15-20ppl. We plan to just use the privado room for our dinner. We're not really having a full blown "reception" with music and everything, since we're only having a few ppl. We're having a full reception with about 120 ppl in Atlanta when we get back from the honeymoon... that way we can still celebrate with those that weren't at the actual ceremony. I am a little worried about when we'll get the pics and video back. It says 3-4 weeks for the photos in the Marriott packages, but we were really hoping to have them sooner because we want to show them at our reception in Atlanta. And we really want to hold the reception 2 weeks after the ceremony-- RIGHT after we get back. )
  2. Oh, and I also heard that Old Stone Farmhouse is really good.. I don't think it's very close to the Marriott though. I've heard good things about Robert's American Grille, also. They will do a Beach BBQ for you from 28pp and up, depending on the menu that you choose. I'm sure they do inside things too...
  3. We're having our reception at Havana Blue... which is a privately owned restaurant right there on site., so your guests wouldn't have to travel if you chose to do it there. It is a bit pricey, depending on the items you choose for your menu... but so are most nice/upscale restaurants in St. Thomas. Kate Atwell is the event planner there and she's been amazing so far. We paid our deposit last week. We made a customized menu since we wanted to change around a few things from the basic four course menus that are printed in their receptions/ rehearsal dinners packet.
  4. 1. Name: Tiffanie 2. Where are you from: originally from Alabama, have been living in Atlanta, Ga for 3.5 yrs 3. Where are you getting married in St Thomas: Marriott Frenchman's Reef 4. When are you getting married: October 6, 2012 5. who is your WC: Will be a resort coordinator... unsure of the specific person because we haven't placed the deposit yet. )
  5. Wow! That's awesome.. I live in Atlanta too. Do you still have their email address? I found the address for the actual location... I wonder if it's like a travel agency and you can just stop by and pick up information??
  6. Hi ladies!! I'm also a St. Thomas bride. Oct 6th 2012 is the date! My fiance and I plan on putting a deposit down soon even though it seems so far in advance. We're most likely going to use Marriott Frenchman's reef. We were there on V-day last month as a part of a cruise... and he proposed right there in the gazebo!! He'd told me to schedule a tour because he knew it was my dream wedding location.. even though we weren't engaged yet. It was perfect! I'm looking forward to the wedding!! We will be having less than 20 guests and using the private room at Havana Blue for a dinner after the ceremony. We're having a formal reception for about 120 guests at home (Atlanta, GA) when we come back from our honeymoon. )
  7. Hi! I'm getting married in St. Thomas on October 6 2012. I'm considering Wyndham Sugar Bay as well... but I'm leaning more towards Marriott Frenchman's Reef. Mostly because that's where my fiance proposed last month-- yay! I also really like the way that their packages are set up. I haven't had any luck getting any price/package info from Wyndham. There is a thread on here from a girl that had a wedding there recently though: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/71081/st-thomas-wedding-recap The poster also mentioned that you should send your marriage license application early and call to check & make sure it got there because their court system (and mail) is a bit iffy.
  8. Thanks so much for posting these tips! Like the previous poster, I am having my ceremony at Marriott Frenchman's Reef, but I did look at Wyndham briefly. I couldn't get the pricing request on their website to work... I'm already biased anyway, because my fiance & I toured the Marriott when we were in St. Thomas on a cruise last month & he proposed to me right there in the gazebo! So, though we haven't put down the deposit yet, I'm 99.9% sure that is where we'll be getting married. The date is set for Oct 6, 2012. I will make sure to send our marriage license early & check over the phone to make sure it gets there... I'm glad that you shared this advice!!!
  9. I would absolutely love to see this letter!! We plan to marry in St. Thomas next year and I've never even been before, so I'd love to get some ideas, if you don't mind! My email is [email protected]
