  1. Were dealing with Elizabeth and she has been great, my problem is were going to have probally just over 45 guests with us so I went with the gala dinner. I was told it was $75/pp and now im being told its $92/pp. I always wanted to do the reception outside just cause i dont want it to be muggy at night and be sweaty, and this make me feel like im still having a traditonal wedding, somewhat. I looked into trying to build my own package but there were things that i wanted that would of ended up costing the same. I just keep telling myself that even though it may seem like alot of money, were still saving sooo much by doing a destination wedding. We actually in the process of booking out trips now too. Its pretty much the same for us. We have to pay $200 deposit and then pay the rest in February 2012. Our wedding datw is APril 25, 2012 (So will just mis eachother) and we also had to pay $200 for the wedding date. Now its starting to get a little stressful with all the details being made and the money being spent. But i now that it will all be worth it. Im actually just in the process of booking my photographer, hair and mkae up artist and photobooth. What have you guys decided for your dinner plans?
  2. How many guests do you have attending?? Where are you having your reception?? Im starting with my music and im finding it to be soooo difficult. What music do you have??
  3. Wow.. its getting close!! And thats strange about the gazebo I was told that max was 50 ppl. Weird! I know it is definitley getting difficult planning a wedding through email, but it will all work out. Where are you have your reception? Are you doing a dinner? How many ppl do you have attending?
  4. Yah i know im starting to get some different pricing as well. I was told that for the itialian buffet with domestic open bar in a gala room was $70/per person and now she is telling me that it is $92 per person?? I am not liking it either. So i emailed her asking why the price change and now im waiting for her response. Cause $92/pp is a little much. How is the rest of your planning coming?? WHen is you wedding date??
  5. Hello, So im trying to finalize some of our wedding plans and its getting dificult. I found a photobooth our there for a good price, and I message elizabeth asking if it was ok if it came on the resort property and she told me that it would be $100 per person!! Im hoping she is referring to a day pass for the phtobooth assistant and not $100 per person for all my guests. That confused me. Then I asked if there would be champagne included after the ceremony and she said that its $10/per person. Im starting to see that they charge you for everything. I was at a wedding the Domincan last year and they were so good about things like that. Its making me frusterated. How is your planning coming along. have you had any issues with this kind of stuff??

Do you know if they will play my songlist that i have on my Ipod or can we send hima list of this songs we want? Or is it better off just renting the equiptment and playing the songs our selves???
  9. Thanks for all your info. I just was wondering if there was any difference in the sides (grand sunset/grand riviera) ?? I have booked which side to stay on yet because I am a little confused. Also, Is the beach as bad as some reviews say it is? Im also getting married at the GSP in April 2012.. When is your wedding date?
  10. Im using Julieta. I got her info from a friend of mine that just got married in Nov 2010 and she said that Julieta was amazing. So i contacted her and she will do whatever you want her to do. Just sent her pics of what your vision is and she will make it come to life. Here is her website: www.floresjulieta.mex.tl Im getting her to have 3 vases on each table with a rose inside the water, with candles sitting on top of the water, then rose petals scattered on the table with candles on the tables as well. Then she is also going to do some under table lighting to give it that romantic feel. That is costing me about $88/table. So that not too bad. Figuring that the hotel charges $50/centerpiece. We might as well spend a little more and get exactly what you envision. But yes check her out.. ive heard great things.
  11. Hello.. I dont think that the gazebo is not available. I think that at one point it was due to the explosion, but i think now its ok. I sure hope so anyways cause i told my WC thats where i waned our ceremony and she said that it confirmed. There are 2 ceremony areas, the gazebo with the 2 levels and then there is another gazebo type area that is a bit smaller called the chill area. Regarding the beach party, i think that it run abouts $85-100 per person. In the reviews everyone says that its an amazing night. have you heard from your WC yet? When your wedding??
  12. So what does the symbolic ceremony look like?? Do they still do the thumb stamp or the pouring of the sand?? And u still exchange rings and all that right....
  13. I waited a couple weeks for my first response from the WC, but once i heard back from her she has actually been really good. I have Elizabeth and see usually take a couple days now. Have you not heard back at all????

  15. Helloo..Im soo happy to hear that your wedding was amazing. Im hoping that you could help me with a few questions that i have..plllsss Im having my wedding there April 2012. You said that you met with your WC day 2 of ur trip..Did u have a choice of when she would meet with you? how long was your meeting with her? Did you love your hair and make-up from the resort? Did you bring a pic of your own pic of your make-up that you wanted or did they just do it? Regarding the cocktail hour.. I was thought that snacks would be provided.. Did u have any? Where was ur cocktail hour? Did u have a choice of where you could have it? Was it worth it? With your music/ipod what connections did you need? You say that the ceremony only last 15mins??.. Ive heard the ceremonies are about 35mins.. But i guess it depends on your minister. Id better go over my timings for everything again. Now im a little confused about there being a riveria side and a sunset side... Is there a difference? You mentioned a platinum side...What rooms is that.. was it worth it? I hope that wasnt too much.. Sorryyyyyyyy I just really need the help. Thanks!!!!!!
  16. I was wondering about the cocktail hour too. My WC told me that there is no food served with cocktail hour.. I always thought that there would be a few snacks or something. Im trying to debate if it even worth it. i mean we could just go to the lobby bar and hang out there..but i guess with the cocktail hour they give you your basically paying for the privacy and servers. I wonder how much it would be extra for some food. Any one else have the cocktail hour????
  17. Ive also been debating about this cocktail hour. The WC told me that there is no food served at the cocktail hour, which i thought was kinda strange..I thought there would at least be a few appys out. Then i asked if we had a choice of where the cocktail hour location is.. Have you heard anything more about it??

Do you get to choose where you want to have it? To you get a choice of food options? Was there music or anything like that? Was the location private? Lots i knoww... Im just confused. Thanks!!!!
  20. Thanks sooooo much!! You really helped. I think that will go with the Platium suit it seems wonderful. Regarding the cocktail hour i guess once the WC gets back to me with my confirmation ill ask her about the cocktail hour locations. Because i do want the ceremony at the gazebo that looks like a little chapel. Another question regarding your cocktail hour.. Did u guys get to chose what appys you wanted to be served??? Or was it just whatever they wanted to give you.... The TA that im using is a friends wife.. she has been in the business for a while and her office is located near where everyone lives so i think that will work out good when it comes to booking time. For my flowers ive been referred to a decorator located in Mexico that does amazing work. So im getting her and her team to decorate the reception hall/centerpieces and probably do my flowers as well. I guess ive just read a few reviews that ppl were not totally happy with there flowers..so i didnt wanna risk it. With your hair and make-up.. did you just bring a pic of what you wanted your make-up to look like???? Also, Ive seen in a couple pics a golf cart/trolly that has a just married heart on the back... Do you know anything about that.. or did you see it at all??? Thanks again:)
  21. Wow it seems like you had an amazing time except for little bumps at the beginning of your trip. I just have a few questions that im hoping you can help me with.. Where was your cocktail hour held?? Do you get a choice of where you would like to have it.. How were your flowers..did you love them?? With the DJ did he play his own music or could you give him your music on ipod/CD to be played?? Ive just been told by my TA that she cant find anywhere that will book packages to the riviera side.. Do you know what side is the newer side?? Does it matter.. or are they both the same.. With the Villa suite you ended up getting was it close to the beach?? Thanks!!!

Cause i just got off the phone with my travel agent and she said that due to the unfortunate explosion that most airlines are not doing packages for the grand riviera princess side, only to the grand sunset side. So my question is.. Are the sides the same? Can we use all the same facilities? Is there a difference between the sides? I'm just a little confused. I hope that it doesn't effect the wedding plans Has anyone else run into this problem??
