Well I am not sure what to do...Here is the response from Ileana. My email asked for a contract and that she confirmed I was allowed to use La Luna 2 weeks ago. She said nothing about a contract..here response for anyone else that is having this issue. You are allowed anyone else but these 2... "Although we do not recommend outside vendors, we do allow them to come to the hotel, however Del Sol/La Luna Photography are banned at Excellence Resorts due to an unethical and unprofessional practices. Everyone else is welcome to come to Excellence Playa Mujeres."

My budget was $2000-$3000 but I honestly would have paid whatever. I really had no idea, I was actually surprised how much cheaper the dresses were then I thought. My dress came to a little under $1000 with taxes & fees. The ones off the rack & clearance were even cheaper! I saw a few that were around $300!! When do you think you will start looking? Have anything in mind?

Congrats! Well its really up to you. Its a matter of preference really. I sent out my STDs as soon as I had my date booked. We are getting married May 3 2012 & I sent out my STDs in April. I wanted to give my guests as much time as possible to save. Dont forget you will be sending out invitations later so I didnt think it mattered that it was over a year away for me.

So glad to hear that the ladies who had hired Del Sol or La Luna are able to still use them. I am still waiting on EPM to get back to me...I will give them hell if we are not able. lol! This will be our third stay and we are having a wedding & guests come...it's just plain greed & awful business I think! If the chair, tables & flatware are now not included I don't know what I will do....this is getting more & more stressful each day! As for the bonfire, it is still listed on their website so hopefully you can do it & she just has no clue. Good luck to everyone!

We sent out our STDs in March for our May 3 2012 wedding. We have until the end of November for our room block so I have the RSVP on the invitations by Nov 1st. With that being said I still have them sitting at home ready to be sent out but am going to hold off until AugSept. I figure November is early but I have no idea if we will need to add or remove rooms. I am just hoping people actually rsvp! lol! We figured if someone doesnt know they arent coming by Nov then chances are they are not coming at all.

I have a feeling this bride is getting married where I am since I am in the same situation. When I first reserved my date & booked our rooms we were told we could use other vendors. I emailed them on June 22 to let them know I put a deposit down for La Luna Photography & gave them their info in case they needed it. The WC from the resort responded & said it was fine & they would not need anything else & informed me of the day pass rates. So now I am finding out on here that their policy has changed. I immediately emailed them this morning to find out what is going on. Unfortunately, they do not do contracts so now I don't know if I will be out the deposit money I just paid & have to use their photog. If I would have known this before hand, NO I would not have chosen this resort. The photos are the most important part to me since those are what you will look at forever. I was not a fan of the resorts photog that they offered which made me book elsewhere. It makes no sense to me why all of a sudden this changed & I am very upset. I dont feel it is fair to do this especially after them saying it is OK. So now the 3-4 day wait for them to get back to me....

Sorry, I meant to ask you this on my last post. Did you have your hair & makeup done at the spa? Look gorgeous! Was your bouquet flowers part of the package? Could you choose those flowers? They are the colors I want.

KeraSmiley- your pics are beautiful! Congrats. I am SO upset with reading all of this. I emailed Excellence 2 weeks ago letting them know we had hired La Luna & sent them their info & asked if this was okay & if there was any other info they needed. They responded & said it was fine. I am very confused & I dont think they do contracts but I am going to email them today & hopefully find out if I can still use La Luna & get a contract. I really dont understand how this can change & be acceptable. Especially seeing as Del Sol was just there. Its not fair to Del Sol & La Luna. What happens if we cant use them & we already paid our deposit & signed a contract with the photog? Now I am out that money??? This is ridiculous.... I do not want to use their in-house photographer. Whenever I hear back from someone at Excellence I will post their comments.
