  1. We ending up renting groomsmen vest, shirt, tie and pants for a total of 79.99 each we purchased my husband's suit.
  2. My mom had a linen dress custom made for her as she didn't like anything in the store.
  3. Update we just got back from our wedding in the DR the Bins made it! No extra charges and they had so many bag handlers helping we didn't have to try to lug them around ourselves well worth the money we tipped the guy. The Bag handler even helped us go through Dominican Customs with out being checked. It was easy and we left the bins at our hotel when we left so we didn't have to lug them back. the bins also help save on weight as the larger suitcases weigh 12 lbs with nothing in them.
  4. Big Hits: the Cups the bag itself Sunblock Sunglasses Flip Flops Lanyards & Key Coils with Waterproof ID holder Things that were not used: Golf Balls and tees Beach Balls We packed other things but not sure if they were used or not: toothbrush, toothpaste, after-sun, meds (I don't think anyone got sick or had stomach issues)
  5. Update I had my wedding 12 days ago and everything went great. I ended up going with Caribbean Celebrations for my centerpieces. And yes the boat provided wooden chairs! Their DJ was great and so was the food!
  6. The cake was delicious! and I was actually surprised, as we picked the Melia Package at the Hotel which is the free package. The cake had Guava filling and the boat served fresh pineapple on the side.
  7. Majority of our guests arrived the day before the welcome dinner and we greeted them in the lobby with the welcome bags ourselves. We also posted all the events on our wedding website because we did have a few guest arrive the day of the welcome dinner. We still included the weekend itinerary in their bag.
  8. It sounds to me that she has not made any effort to visit you and you only live a few hours apart and that is before the baby. I would not count on her making it all the way to Jamaica, 3 months after a baby, especially since it sounds like you are the only one making an effort to maintain your friendship. What I have learned from planning my own wedding is girls always over commit to things and back out at the last minute or not even tell you at all. I would replace her in your bridal party it sounds like you only asked her because she stood in your wedding.
  9. I think that they are concerned about your pictures and do not want to disappoint you with their choice. I think if you gave them at least a color then they would be more at ease. but this is not unheard of many brides tell their bridesmaids to pick a style of dress that they are most comfortable in.
  10. Thanks! He said he loved the dress. I'm so excited I get to wear it again at the at home reception
  11. Here is a picture of our wedding cake from the Melia Caribe Tropical
  12. The wooden chairs were not extra the La Barcaza provided them. We had prepared our IPod with a wedding play list but to our surprise they had a DJ on-board. Our centerpieces came from Caribbean Celebrations they were $50 each and we only needed 4 each table sits 8 guests. We opted to have our dinner, first dance cake cutting, then the swimming. The normal flow of things is the take you to the swimming hole first then dinner. Our cake was from the resort. I would put someone in charge of making sure the flow goes as you want.
  13. I didn't hear anyone complain my husband was quite hot in his 3 piece suit but he did not keep it on for long.
  14. Okay Just got back from my wedding and La Barcaza was amazing!
