  1. Yes we had music for the processional and recessional. But none during the ceremony. We thought we were going to have communion, but I guess that is not offered at the Catholic weddings taking place in the Hotel. But we were never informed that Communion was not part of the ceremony.
  2. Mine Catholic wedding at the Melia Caribe was about 35 minutes. No music during the ceremony and no Eucharist
  3. Unfortunately this is a common practice in the Dominican Republic, even well know American Brand Hotels (i.e. Hard Rock) charge a copyright fee for an outside photogrpher. It is upseting I guess if you don't want to pay the fee you can have your whole wedding at Jellyfish, but there is not a dressing room there. Money grabbing practice, maybe you can tell her that due to the fee your are considering moving your ceremony to the Jellyfish unless the fee can be discounted. That might help them change their mind..... Good Luck!
  4. We paid the $1,000 copyright fee but maybe if you use their provider and your outside vendor they might waive the fee it doesn't hurt to ask...
  5. My husband dressed differently than his groomsmen. I think it is fine to have the groom standout as it is his special day too Here is a Picture of my hsband and his groomsmen
  6. We put down the deposit on the majority of our guests rooms $1,600. after the guests booked their rooms she took the $1,600 off the price of our room. So the deposit we put down went towards our own room cost. Our package price include a transfer to and from the airport for the resort we choose. However my husband and I stayed at a different resort for our honeymoon and we booked transfer from that resort to the airport. It was supposed to be a private transfer and we paid $100. She quoted us $50 for a shared transfered but we went with a private transfer. it was not a private transfer and I emailed her about this and she said she would refund us and never did..... You are better off catching a cab. DO NOT book a transfer through this company it is a rip off, this company does not refund money to you...... insist on your money back as soon as your deposits have been put down or you will never see that money again.....
  7. Some ladies at work threw me a Shower and many of the guests were not invited to the DW. They just wanted to celebrate with me. Traditionally Brides do not throw their own showers so the guest list is kind of out of your hands any way.

  9. I had a catholic ceremony at the Melia Caribe. We used the guitar trio they played instrumental music upbeat local sounding. They played Cannon D when I walked down the aisle. There was no music during the ceremony.
  10. I did not get married on a crusie, but we had a family reunion and told everyone to book my time dinning it worked out pretty good as if you pick a certain time you are assigned a table and usually with a couple you do not know.
  11. I am sure Mayrte has some great recommendations. But if I were you I would go with a DJ and not a cover band.
