I always take one when I go to resorts, they are such a good idea and I agree with SeeFlowers, people probably wont think to bring them especially if they haven't travelled before. I think they would be well worth your money

Congrats on getting your STD's out that's awesome! It does suck and doesnt, a change of scenery might be nice and to try somewhere new will also be fun. And the tours will help to fill up the time. I would not be able to do a traditional wedding either, it would be way too much.

Sharon, Im sure we will have a few people who think it will be to expensive but oh well. Deebridetobe....we share our wedding day!!! I haven't done too much planning yet other than finding the resort, but it will start soon. We have just started talking about bridsmaid dresses, we are going to start looking fairly soon. Sharon I replied to you on the other thread lol. That is a fairly good price you got, is that with taxes?? If so that was our price range but just found something we liked and so far people we are inviting are totally ok with it so we are happy about that.

We are going on a sunday, getting married the Wed and staying for two weeks in total, and we are switching resorts just because some of our guests are staying two weeks and we want to spoil ourselves with a high end resort. So the sunday after the wedding, that everyone goes home we will transfer to another place...still undecided on which one to go to though. My FI gets antsy as well so we are going to do some tours our second week there that way it gives us something to do other than just lay on the beach.

Hi Kateks, We are doing a wedding in April 2012 near playa del carmen and the lowest we could get was $1600 which was also above what we wanted. Our travel agent told us because we are booking so far inadvance that prices are higher not sure when they drop though or if you would want to wait with such a big group. There should be group deals, for us every 15 people we get a $500 credit through a groups booking, I think this is normal and you can decide if you want to spread the money out or whatever you prefer. You should look into that, also what about looking earlier in January, we were told prices start to go up in Feb but maybe they do at the end of Jan too. Originally we wanted to get married in Feb but it was way more. Not sure if this is much help but I hope it is! Ali

Thanks Nicole, We actually chose a different resort now, we are going to the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort. I really liked this resort but the one we chose has a few more things that we wanted in a resort. I have heard all great things about Catalonia Playa Maroma though and would love to go there one day And i would love to see your pictures from your wedding when you are back. Happy planning!!!

I really like the second one, it gets my vote. I agree with starrysim, satin and sand not so good even though it is a really nice dress.
