  1. We got 4 free t-shirts, 1 free hat, 2 free lawn signs, 250 business cards (to be used as luggage tags), 100 rack cards (to be used as door tags), and 100 postcards!
  2. Great idea. If you think people won't get it, have someone, like a parent or friend sign it first before you put it out so other people get the idea. We did this for a friend of mine's wedding and until one person signed it no one else did anything, but after one person did, they all came back and signed. Herd mentalitly!?G
  3. I have been seeing them for about $4 or so at places like Marshals, Ross, and TJ Maxx.
  4. We were told we could give our guests a choice but we had to provide the resort with each guest's choice and a seating chart 2 weeks prior. We have one set menu for apps, soup, and dessert and then we gave guests a choice of fish provencial or the steak and chicken dinner. Also, as far as the prices, let me know what Esman says. He was pretty set on only giving me prices that were quoted in emails even when I argued that I paid a deposit in July of 2010 and had been asking for a contract for months on end. Only 4 more months to go!!
  5. In regards to contracts. Demand one ASAP!! I began asking for one in September and was never directly answered, I was told I didn't need one or that I could wait and one time I was told they were working on one for me. I never got one until January and when I recieved it, it was compeltly wrong, the prices were all way higher, things I had asked for were not included and others were added in that I specifically asked not to have were in there. I had assumed that I would be honored pricing from when I put down my deposit but that was not true. I told Esman that I felt they were not doing good business or being honest. He wound up telling me he would honor any price Rebeca or Louise had quoted me and what ever was not quoted, I would have to pay all of the new prices.
  6. The seaglass idea is a great one! Congrats & have fun!!
  7. Ok, need help from past and present Dreams Brides. I am having group rate and booking issues with Dreams. I put down a deposit of $800 for 10 deluxe rooms w/o balcony and signed a contract in October. The group rate I got was good for Aug 15-23, now two of the days are blocked out because I have 10 guests booked that have used the group code. I was told if I ran out of rooms, I could ask for more and not have to pay additional money and this was stated in an email. I emailed and asked for more rooms to be released and was told I had to pay for more rooms to be released. I replyed with a copy of the email and was told that person no longer works there (SURPRISE!) and they "must of made a mistake". I even asked to be put in contact with the manager for group rates and was not answered. Then I was told they would "work" on getting me more rooms. What were/are your parameters for your group rates? Also, what happens if you do not use all of your rooms or have additional random days left over (ie some days are booked full and others were not)?
  8. M1984- We are choosing to put together the wording for our ceremony and compose our own vows. There is a thread on here where many people have submitted scripts from their weddings, we got some good ideas from there. I think it is in the etiquette section. We want to make sure that our ceremony is special to us and not just some generic wording. Also, I was told if you are doing a symbolic ceremony, you may use your own "officiant", so we may use a close friend of ours as opposed to the one provided by the resort. Again, making it more special to us.
  9. I'm also an August Bride! August 20, 2011 Dreams Puerto Vallarta!

  12. Looked into these but they were more expensive than I thought they were worth. I shopped around on ETSY and found a few sellers with similar dresses for more reasonable prices. I got fabric samples from 3 sellers on the site and wound up using CoralieBeatrix for my bridesmaids dresses. They all LOVE them and so do I. Here is her link. http://www.etsy.com/shop/CoralieBeatrix
  13. I was told $350-$400 depending on the amount of ppl you had. Here is what he said in our email: "We would like to have a bon-fire on the beach on Friday August 19. Can this be reserved? Yes, price for bonfire is 350 for 40 people, more than 40 is 400 USD. Time is for 2 hours and can not be after 10pm."
