So I was there in October. I can send you some pictures. The food at the Mexican Rest. Was great I thought! The Disco is a Disco and its located kind of off the main drag of the hotel where the show will be right next door and in front of the main buffet. I would say if you are having a lot of people/young people then yea you could do it. If not then I wouldn’t waste the money. How many people are you having? Yea, you can’t use the same place for the reception. Just to let you know the Mexican Rest. Overlooks the quieter pool but they will have other dinners I believe going on at the same time… and the Mexican rest during the day is an additional buffet for that pool and guests… I have pictures. Send me your email and I will send so you can have a visual… And yes everything is booked as far as the hotel/dinner and what not…. Their dates fill up really quickly and they are busy nonstop. Also Nelly has moved into a different roll and now MINA is the WC for the Santa Fe. So far she seems better then Nelly. We also met her in OCT. just ehhh if you know what I mean… mina is pretty quick on the emails. A lot she likes to do 2 months prior too but I’m a planner and a thinker so I wanted to see what I needed to think and plan prior then 2 months. I think it would be really stressful waiting until then to start making decisions.

We are booked for Riu Santa Fe Wedding june 25th 2011. I noticed there is not a lot of people it seems to be at the Riu... not sure if we need to start a new thread or what... ;(

Does any one have a template for those little welcome cards you are putting on the OOT bags! They are So cute!!! Did you make them or have them made?

Where are you putting the maracas? i saw the shake at the kiss too and i really like the idea but i dont know how i feel about having them on the chairs of the wedding (bc they have the white linnen deal and the bow) kind of fancy/elegant looking and then to put a maraca on it? and they dont really match my colors but they give the total mexican feel other then the fact we are in Mexico. I just cant decide what to do. Then i thought well maybe we could put them in a basket or something and then what if the people miss them? then it would be a total waste!!!!

I will say i was at the resort where we are getting married in October and having a little bag to tote stuff/towels and things of this nature around was needed. If i got something in my room when i arrived like an OOT i would be so excited. We thought we packed everything but you would be surprise what my fiance HAD to buy (5.00 tylenol and 4.00 tums) and they didnt have things like Q tips or shower gel in the rooms. Sure they had stuff you could buy and it was sooooooooo OVER priced it was a total joke. I am that bride on a total budget but im going to try to do them and keep them under 8.00 each one. I think its totally doable! I found the bags (really cute for 2 something) and i will just put a few little things (including a big bottle of water that the hotel provides!! Love that! and then today i bought these cello bags and im debating to buy a box of band aids and that type of stuff at the dollar store and fill them up and then also have a little packet of information/times and what not.... People are coming from all over and like the other girls mentioned its a total extra! Im having a lot of fun looking around and keeping my eyes out for cool stuff.... but i think i will keep the bag as the main thing with the big bottle of watter put fun color tissue paper, the little cello bag full of stuff and the information they need to know and call it good! food for thought

Girls, if you havent booked stuff goes really quick and they talk about requesting a minimum of 3 months for the process. I am a June 25th Bride and we are doing it at the Riu Santa Fe!!! I love this website and its so great to see everyone posting! Anyone have reccomendations for the Riu??? Anyone who has had their wedding there already???
