  1. I agree with all the suggestions, even though you don't get pro pix taken all the time, your engagement photos should reflect who you guys are as a couple. There is no need to change that element just because of who is taking the picture.
  2. Ndvidul, IMO the flowers are what you want them to be so pick your favorites and see where he can go from there and give him a color range of flowers you are interested in. The magic will happen
  3. He's doing awesome, thanks for asking Coco. Getting big gained 3 lbs in his first month. I have NO idea if i will be successful at the jewelry making but I thought I would give it a try since it sounds totally fun I've attached an updated pic of JD because I can't help but brag
  4. Hi Ladies, I've been an absentee bride lately. I've missed you guys terribly. Welcome to all the new brides congrats. So excited to be a part of your planning. Coco that jewelry is beautiful. I am actually hoping to make some of my own jewelry. I signed up for a class and ordered some books from the library. How is everyone else's planning going?
  5. Totally sweet and congratulations Happy Planning.
  6. I agree it's your wedding, and your colors will look beautiful on it. And besides gold is like an all season color so if you are worried about it use that as your base and burgundy as your accent. I am doing all shades of pink and black. I didn't want to have to search out one certain shade of pink. I wanted to be able to encompass all the hues of pink that I love and I am doing exactly that. Have fun and enjoy.
  7. Coco- Your dress is AMAZING, and I love seeing how happy you are in it Congrats on finally having your day with Mr Lazaro. What an awesome memory. KrSmith, I also have a lot of the information that you are looking for from the MP so let me know what you don't get and I can see if I can fill in the blanks. I just got my welcome brochures from VP the other day it was round 2 since there was a grammatical error I didn't catch the first time. Trust me have someone else look at it because no matter what it never fails that you'll miss something. I am working on our photography scavenger hunt, and we are meeting with a gentlemen to see what we can do with our OOT bags to get a design on them. We'll see if we can, but also since it appears that we may not have as many guests as we originally thought, I might upgrade my bags in the end. We shall see. I am going to sign up for a jewelry making class because I thought it would be fun to make my own for the trip and maybe make a piece for the ladies. I am in need of more projects otherwise I start to panic
  8. We went out today and bought our wedding bands. Go us! What has everyone else been up to lately?
  9. Moon Palace April 17th 2012 here. I wish it was April already. We just went and got our wedding bands today. So totally excited. I just can't wait.
  10. I can't believe that I am at 9 months to go already. It feels like just yesterday I googled destination weddings and found this amazing place.
  11. Wow, our budget is currently $12,000.00 but that includes our 14 day stay at the Moon Palace which is the largest chunk of our budget at $5000.00. Item Budget Actual 2 weeks in Mexico $5000.00 $5260.00 Flight $600.00 not purchased yet Photography $1000.00 $1195.00 all day and TTD session plus 200 prints and DVD with rights to images OOT Bags $1000.00 currently less than $100.00 including the bag for the guests that have booked (5 rooms) Wedding Attire $1500.00 $499.00 (dress) + $25.00 hair flower Invites/STD's $425.00 $343.73 including postage Wedding Extras $500.00 $330.00 flowers $9425.00 $7802.23 There are other items included in my 12k budget, but those are things like spending money etc...I didn't include the cost of rings because for me that is about a lifetime and not a day.
  12. I love Twitch too, does anyone watch Randy Jackson's Americas Best Dance Crew?
  13. I am addicted! LOVE this show so so so much! I <3 Marko and Melanie. I loved Melanie from the auditions so I am glad to see her doing so well. I am adding a spoiler warning in case anyone hasn't watched last nights results show S P O I L E R Although I am glad Mitchell is gone, I think Jordan should have been the girl to go, she does the same routine for the most part for every one of her dance for your life dances. I thought Clarice out danced her.
  14. I don't really have a theme, my color palette is shades of pink and black. I love fuschia especially for a Mexico wedding, but it's almost too much if that is the only shade that I am working with. I like to have balance. Although now that I am sitting here trying to define it, I think our wedding theme is more about the adventure and journey of marriage vs just the wedding itself. Our STD's were boarding passes, and our invites were MIB made to look like a long long treasure map of Quintana Roo, and our wording was about the treasure of marriage and love. Hey what do you know I have a theme
  15. Welcome and congrats AmJ! Planning here has kind of stalled, I think it's mostly due to heat wave and not wanting to just sit at the computer and work on projects. The next project is the welcome booklet. I figure that is something I can design and work on over the next 9 months. Need FI to get on the clothing train, i have been buying stuff since we got engaged but nothing for him because we don't have joint accounts at this point so we are each doing it separately.
  16. Are these allowed in Mexico? If so what an amazing idea
  17. Congratulations, you will have such an amazing time not only having a DW but planning it as well. Invites are totally up to the B & G there truly is no etiquette for a DW invites, some brides to e-vites some just do save the dates, and some like me go crazy and have fun doing it all yourself and coming out with an amazing invitation. I am doing a separate AHR (at home reception) invite only because I am focusing on the DW part first. As far as timing, I set an arrival day for my guests and let them choose the departure date. I knew FI and I would be there for 14 days and most people would do 5 nights, so I let them decide how many and how long and the rest is ours. This to is up to you, as there truly are no rules except for the ones you set for yourself. And you can call the resorts yourself, but I would also suggest finding a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings there are plenty on this site, I am using one from a different site that specializes in my resort so I love that. I like that I don't have to know ALL the answers for my guests, and that Camille is there to handle all those questions
  18. If you had to choose between Xcaret and Xelha to do with a group which would you recommend.? I figured FI and I can go to both since we'll be down there for 14 days but our guests will only be there for 5 days for the most part, I am looking for an awesome recommendation to give them. Thanks
  19. Thanks for sharing that is one resort I hope that we will be able to visit when we are down there. So many places I want to see and things I want to do
  20. i have extremely dry skin so I use a clinique moisturizer with spf 45 for my face and my body is usually a spray since I feel it applies easier and with less grease
  21. So have any of you 2011 brides gone on any tours that weren't included in the resort credits? I am just curious because we will be down there for 2 weeks and want to use up the resort credits, but also are interested in checking out the other tours if they are worth it. Any thoughts?
  22. I agree this is about you and your FI, but also his feelings do matter. One of the biggest issues we had is FI's dad. His sister got married in Mexico last October and we knew that his dad probably wouldn't want to go back for our wedding. So here we are 9 months away and we were told the from day one that Mexico isn't their idea of a vacation so they won't be attending. I wanted FI to make the decision knowing his own dad wouldn't go. Luckily a DW was more my FI's decision than mine but you both need to talk about how you feel and find a compromise.
  23. You can try taking an allergy pill like zyrtec or claritin OTC and that might help. If you clean your ring it could be what you are using stays on the inside of the ring and agitates your skin. But I agree that you should go to your dermatologist
