  1. I would like to be able to find this as well. It would help me and the hubby to be out quite a bit!
  2. This is a great list -thanks!!! I have a couple additions: Note: I just got back yesterday from my cousin's DW in Punta Cana and the things that the bulk of the group forgot/ran out of was: Sun Tan Lotion (it was $23 for a 250mL bottle at the store!), Aloe, Benedryl/Afterbite and decks of cards (people paid $5-6 for a deck!). The mugs are a great idea - and I would suggest adding in a trial size of dish detergent so you can wash them out. We used ours for the first day - got a bit tipsy and forgot to wash them...so they smelled kind of "off" the next day and we didn't use them again. If you want to save money, you could opt for non-disposable plastic cups (without the travel mug lid) - http://www.4imprint.ca/tag/614/Plastic-Cups/p/0.41-1.16 If your concerned that people's drinks won't stay cold - i wouldn't worry about it too much, most people will finish them before and if not, they can always dump out their cup and go get a refill! My hubby-to-be and I had a puzzle book to keep us occupied and it had great brain teasers, trivia questions, etc. We may make up our own little booklet of puzzles. One section of our puzzle book was all coin puzzles and we were thinking it would be fun to give a little baggy of Jamaican coins with some games. We are also going to get there a couple days early and pick up some post cards to put in the bags. Our problem is we want to do too much! It adds up fast! Happy Planning! 3. I haven't been online for awhile and that's because i have been at my cousin's DW at the Melia Caribe, Punta Cana. It was unreal! This is one of the largest resorts I have ever been to. The food is spectacular (even for a vegetarian). If you want a resort that is kid/family friendly, this is the place to go! They have a pool that is Flintstone themed and filled with activities. I wanted to share her pics with you. She used the photographer from the resort. The photographer took over 400 pics, narrowed it down to 200 to show them and they walked away with 36 - the majority were 5x7's and then there was a few 8x10s and then a huge group photo. http://www.flickr.com/photos/taraottenbrite/ Privacy was really important to her, so she was married in the gazebo (vs. the beach). I can see why, the beach was so packed. My cousin said that the resort mailed her a massive binder with all of her options for the reception and ceremony. She picked everything out in advance; however, ended up changing it the day before. The reason was that some of the prices had changed (some went up and some went down). That was her only complaint - more of a warning than a complaint. Everything was so beautiful and the wedding planner, stayed until the middle of dinner to make sure everything was set-up ad going smoothly. I feel like I went there with a very critical eye, because we are planning a DW wedding too, and I can honestly say there was nothing bad to say. If you are getting married there you will be well taken care of! If you want me to ask her anything else, just let me know. Cheers, Kel Riu Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Jan 12, 2012

  5. Hello there lovely ladies. I am so excited that I am at the one year count down! Wooooo hooooooo! Especially since I have been home sick, it brightens my day significantly! I just called my hubby-to-be and said "will you take me in sickness and in health?" Thankfully he said, "Of course." I look forward to sharing our wedding planning highs, lows, resources and tips. Let me know if you will be at ROR the same week! Happy planning. Kelly PS - this website is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO addicting... do they have an app for this? lol
  6. Hey there! I am getting married one year exactly today! And we have the Riu Ocho Rios booked. I picked this because it is kid friendly and my bro was married at the Riu Palace in Dominican so I am hoping that the quality will cross over. I think there will be positives and negatives to any place you choose, as long as you don't stress too much about timing (I have a feeling they are very laid back in Jamaica - lol) you should be fine. Surround yourself with good company and everyone will be happy. Let me know how things go! Maybe we will cross paths! Kelly
