  1. Congrats ladies! I wish you all the happiness in the world. Can't wait to see all your photos!
  2. Is there anyone that you could give your OOT bags to ahead of time? Or perhaps some friends can take some decorations for you? I live down here in Mexico, but I'm having at least 10 friends bring things for me that I can't find down here - string lighting, taper candles, my real touch bouquet, some of the things for my OOT bags, etc. Your friends and family are there to help you, all you need to do is ask! I've been feeling really guilty about asking people to bring things, but they keep assuring me it's no problem.
  3. Here's my bouquet! I haven't seen it in person yet but these are the photos that Kim from AlexisGraceDesigns sent me. I should have it by the end of the week!
  4. Don't pay attention to the weather forcasts! KristieT is right, if it rains in the Caribbean it is usually a monsoon for 20 minutes and then the sun comes out. I haven't seen rain here for at least three weeks but the weather report shows rain, clouds and thunderstorms everyday. I have a feeling the US and Canadian weather sources put bad reports out there on purpose. Honestly, I think it is because the US and Canada want people to vacation at home rather than spending their dollars in places like Mexico and the Dominican. There will be sun!
  5. Hey there! I'm one of the brides that lives here in Playa Del Carmen. I asked a friend in the dive industry and here's his answer: "If you can find out what model, I can find out. There isn't a place I know of that just stocks a variety of housings, but there may be someone in the area that has a compatible housing that may be interested in loaning/renting it out." You could also possibly rent one for her at home before you go and have either her bring it down or possibly you, a friend or a family member. That could be more expensive but also an option! Private message me with the specs of her equipment and I'll see what I can find for you.
  6. Thanks! You are going to have so much fun and treasure the pictures forever. Have a couple drinks first to loosen up, it really helps.
  7. Thanks! Mine was $150 because she was a friend and is just getting her career started. Even though she's a beginner she is so talented! My little bottle of fireball helped me through the nerves too
  8. Thanks! Looking forward to meeting you too!
  9. I did one too! A friend of mine is a photographer and she gave me a discount. I'm not getting the book made yet though. I think that would be something fun to do with my future husband with a bottle of wine. We could sit and look at all the photos together and pick the layout for everything. He has an eye for photography so I think he would enjoy the process. She's also going to photoshop about 10 of them for me so I want to pick those carefully with his input. This is her website. If anyone is ever in Vancouver and wants any sort of photography done, she is amazing! Danaea Li Photography: http://danaealiphotography.com/ For now I'll just give him one printed out in a card with a "there's more with this came from...." kind of comment. Can I share one of the not to revealing photos here? I'm wearing more in the photo than I do on the beach! Hopefully it's ok with the moderators. Here goes....
  10. Hey there! To be honest I haven't seen any mason jars down here, let alone ones of that size. Mexico hasn't caught onto the trend yet I guess! There are lots of glass vases, both cylinder and fishbowl types, at Walmart (there's a little discount decor section when you walk in on the left past the flowers) and also a fabric/craft type store on 30th Ave between Juarez and Calle 2, as well as one near the Walmart on 30th between 12th and 14th. They are both big stores and you won't be able to miss them. No mason jars though, just other types of vases. Good luck! If there's anything else decor wise that you are missing that I might possibly be able to rent to you, please let me know. I live very about 10 mins from the Royal and Gran Porto.

  12. I have bought some of it in Mexico since I live here, and am buying things from 3 or 4 different brides over the next couple of months. I don't reccommend shipping anything to Mexico, both because of the cost, trouble at customs (both cost and the customs officers letting things through), and the pace of Mexican mail (very slow and hard to track). I haven't ordered anything from Mexican sites yet but I am considering it for lighting. Again, not the most reliable. I think most people are paying for an extra suitcase as well as asking their friends and family to help bring things down. If you would like to rent things from me, let me know!
  13. Natural waist for sure. It makes your chest and waist look fantastic. That dress fits you like a dream! I've had two fittings so far, with my final one next week! I'll post some pictures soon. We're in Vancouver right now and head back down to Mexico in a week and a half, with my finished dress in hand. (Plus 4 suitcases of wedding stuff haha)
  14. Thanks! I had my first fitting last week and am going for my second tomorrow! They're rushing it for me because I'm only in Vancouver for three weeks before heading back to Mexico. Hopefully everything will be good to go at the fitting tomorrow and I can take the dress home with me! I'll share the updated photos with the alterations after the fitting tomorrow
  15. Thanks! Do you have yours already? I'd love to see photos of yours! Mine won't be arriving until next week.
  16. The similarities with our weddings are never ending! I love it, can't wait to see your photos
  17. Thank you ladies! I went to my Walmart and found the Blistex fruit smoothie ones. At first I picked up the packs of three ($3.47), but then I saw in the checkout line they had packs with a bonus stick for $3.97! Only $0.50 cents more per pack for the pack of 4. Thanks for your help! I think I'll go to Costco for the advil, immodium and pepto though. We're using little baggies and giving everyone 10 of each. Then we're stapling the baggies to a postcard with our logo and instructions for the meds.
  18. Ladies, I just got the final pictures for my custom real touch bouquet and boutonniere and had to share, I'm so excited! I used Alexis Grace Designs on Etsy and she has been such a dream to work with. I picked all the blooms, ribbon and broach and she has done an amazing job of putting everything together. Succulents and peonies are beyond expensive in Mexico so I'm happy I went this route to get the look I wanted. I'm so happy I get to keep it forever! http://www.etsy.com/listing/127003576/custom-listing-for-katy-final-payment-on
