Azul Fives Brides 2015
MrsHK replied to Lilgabri03's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
That's too bad about the sky deck not allowing string lighting. I'm sure the twinkle of the stars and whatever lighting you choose to have on your tables will be just as beautiful! You've got lots of time to decide on your decor, don't worry. Let me know if you need a hand with any decisions along the way, I'd be happy to help! I love looking at other bride's Pinterest boards to see if I can suggest stuff! I may be married now but I'm still wedding obsessed. -
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm so happy your wedding was everything you dreamed! You and Joyce were a pleasure to work with. I can't wait to see photos of everything put together. Congrats again, and here's to a happy and healthy marraige for you and your new hubby!

Looking for French Macaron in Cancun!
MrsHK replied to Carolineandtaylan's topic in Destination Wedding Vendors
I know Zaida from Dolcet does delivery, but I don't know if she does macaroons. I'm not sure about Cafe Antoinette, but I would suggest messaging them to ask. In my experience of living here, though, anything and everything can be delivered. -
@@girlinthecity97 Thank you! I thought he did a great job, especially since it was the first wedding video he'd ever done. Where in Mexico are you getting married?

***TULUM BRIDES 2012-2013***

Thank you so much! Our really good friend Tom (from Vancouver) filmed it for us. He has some experience editing, but it was his first wedding video. Pretty amazing, especially for a first try! The photographers from Canada (Luckygirl.ca) were amazing too. I actually found them on this forum through another Canadian bride. We had originally booked one of the higher quality photographers down here, and they were going to cost $4600 for 8 hours of coverage and a limited amount of edited images. With Luckygirl, we did a 5 hour shoot the day before the wedding, they stuck around for 14 hours on our wedding day, and we ended up with over 1000 edited images! It also ended up being less money than the other photographer was going to be, even when we factored in their flights, accommodation and photography fees. For our audio equipment we used JSAV - http://www.jsavmexico.com/Contact_Us.html They were great but make sure you pay attention the the quotes and are specific with the details of all the little charges. Our quote was increased with something they said was included originally, so I had to negotiate a bit. That's often how things work in Mexico. Thanks for the compliments on Mikee's outfit! He did choose his own outfit, although I was there helping him try everything on. But the vision of the outfit was all his! -
Tulum Wedding May 2014
MrsHK replied to Archigirl's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hello Tulum brides, and congrats on your upcoming Tulum weddings! My husband and I were married at El Bistro Ziggy Beach at The Beach & Cabañas Tulum Hotels. The venue and hotels were great, and the staff there are amazing! Every time we go back we feel like family. We actually live down here in Playa Del Carmen, and Tulum is our favourite place along the entire coast. If you have a wedding coming up, feel free to ask me any questions you may have, as I have spent quite a bit of time down there, as well as lots of time researching all the venues. You can see our engagement and wedding photos in my signature, both of which were in Tulum. (Both the town and the beach) We also just got our wedding video that our friend put together for us, if you'd like to get a feel for the area! He really captured the feeling of Tulum with the video. The song we chose was written by a musician that spent two months down there living in a tent, so the song really feels like the area as well. Here's a blog post with more info on the venue and our friend who shot the video: http://loveandrum.com/marry-me-katy-mikee-in-tulum -
@girlinthecity97: Have you considered bringing someone down with you? Often the prices of the best videographers down here are inflated because they know people will have to pay higher prices if they want good quality. That's what happens when there isn't a ton of competition to keep the prices low. Our friend from Vancouver just shot this for us last May. I'm not saying fly him down to film for you or anything, but having him film for us was much more affordable than anyone down here. Maybe you could do something similar? Here's a blog post with more info on our friend, if you're interested: http://loveandrum.com/marry-me-katy-mikee-in-tulum

We just got our wedding video from our wedding back in May! Our friend did it for us, so we told him he could take his time with getting it to us. We were married in Tulum on May 22nd, 2013. Although I was a 2013 Canadian bride, I still wanted to share this with all my fellow Canucks! Here's a blog post with some more info about our venue and our friend that did the video: http://loveandrum.com/marry-me-katy-mikee-in-tulum

@@lydiasusi We actually live down here in Playa Del Carmen, so I collected a lot of them down here. Others I purchased from brides that had brought them down. I've also transported some lanterns, bottles and glass candle holders down here myself and if you use bubble wrap you should be ok. I also have all of my decorations available for rent if you would like to have a looks at all my photos and my price list! PM me your email and I'll send you everything. When and where are you getting married?

Thank you so much! Our photographers were amazing, they stuck around for 14 hours on our wedding day! We trusted them completely and were so happy with the way the captured the day. I'm not sure where the graphics for our timeline came from, my husband put that together. He had two wedding tasks — all the graphic design/print materials and showing up at the alter. He accomplished both magnificently, if I do say so myself!

Picking your resort is a very hard decision! One thing that might help is considering whether your guests will want to leave the resort to explore Playa Del Carmen at all, or if you think they'd be happy staying around the resort most of the time. The Iberostar Tucan is in an area called Playacar, which is a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute, $7 cab ride into town. The Grand Sunset Princess is a 20 minute, $25 cab ride into town. I'd also have a look at recent Tripadvisor reviews for both places to get an overall feel of both resorts. Hope that helps a little bit!

I have to say, this stuff is exhausting! I get why people pay so much to have other do this! Does anyone have any tips or examples of welcome/schedule letters to share? I'm feeling like my creative writing is zapped after the ceremony writing! Thanks!! This was our cover page for our Welcome Book, our wedding day schedule of events, and info for our group activities. Keep it fun and simple, and to the point! We said the "when hunger strikes" part on the first page because we gave a couple of pages of suggestions of restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner, as well as fun bars to go to. We weren't at an all-inclusive, so we thought some guidance and info about the places to eat in the area would be beneficial for our guests.
