I hope that works for you! I think it's all a matter of your sneakiness- if you don't tell them and just put them on your guest list, they can't really do anything about it! I am flying a photographer from St. Louis and she is staying 3 days with her assistant so she is definetly a guest of the resort, so I don't have to worry about that!

Smile Market is the in-house photographer. They have some reviews on this website. If you hire an outside photographer you will have to book them a room for 1 or 2 nights (people get different answers). If you only want to spend $1000 I would book with Smile Market!

Marvin's prices are fairly cheap! Way cheaper than what I would pay if I went with the resort!

I think we are going to have our wedding party take turns with annoucements (whoever wants to do it!) Can't wait to see everyone's recent playlists!! I won't start working on mine for another 6 months, but I will definetly post it when I'm done!

If you bring your own decorations, they will charge you anywhere from $100-$200 for the ceremony and another $100-$200 per table for the reception, ask your wedding planner as everyone has gotten a slightly different answer!

Who knows...that is frustrating...I'm upset about the increase, but I booked after 2/1/2012, so I don't have a chance to get them to consider the $65. But now I am trying to decide if it's even worth it to bring my own stuff down for $200 or if it will be cheaper to just rent the chair ribbons at 4/piece and the table runners at $7/piece. It would save me from buying and packing everything. I just didn't except to have to spend over $200 for simple decorations.

We are also planning on an Ipod reception and having someone videotape our ceremony- but maybe we can have my sister's finace record the speeches and our first dance as well! I totally agree- it is waaaay to expensive!! I bet if you have an email quoting you the orignial $65 set up fee, and you argue with them, they will honor it! I have no chance in he!! that I will get Janessa down to the $65 since I wa not offically booked until after 2/1/2012....

I was told this is a new policy as of 2/1/2012. If you do not have a lot of stuff to set up (just table runners, chair bows and favors) they should only charge you $200 to set up everything instead of $200 for each table. HOpe this helps!

My miami coordinator told me that she would charge me $200 to set up the things I bring down for the ceremony and reception since I will not bring a lot- just chair bows, table runners and my favors. I still think that is outrageous, but at least it is not $200 per table! I now have to do some research and see if it will just be cheaper to rent everything rather than buy it and pay the $200 set up fee! I hate all these new rules! I hope the 2010 and 2011 brides realize how lucky they were!

So I just heard from my Sun Palace coordinator and she said that the set up charge was a new policy as of 2/1/2012. She told me that guests could not set up decorations because of a liability to the resort. But she did tell me that if all I had were table runners and favors she would not charge me $200 a table, so I have asked her what she would charge me- so we will wait and see her response. I know Jamie- it is very frustrating that they are going to try and charge that much- I'm sorry to hear you already bought all of your sashes and everything! I will let everyone know what Janessa says if I can have a friend set up the decorations! What is really frustrating is that we no longer have contracts- so I feel like they can just make something up and tell us and we have no proof if it is right or wrong. Ugh! I am too doing the complimentary package and I might just pay to have orange chair sashes on the aisle to give it a pop of color! I guess I will have to pay $4 a chair sash if that is the only option- Ugh!!! Makes me angry!

I just got my friend to burn me all the videos! So I saved myself some money! I am getting married in November, so I think I will start these in June or July! I have been doing Jillian Michaels videos for about 7 months now and I am much more toned- I can't wait to be incredibly toned and get rid of my small pooch on my tummy!

I got a response last night regarding the outrageous set up fees- I was told it is $100 fee for the ceremony and $200 PER TABLE for the reception!!!! That is outrageous!! I have questioned her to ask if that still pertains to people if they get the unlimited private events and if I can just have a friend/guest of the wedding set up my reception decorations- as all I will have is a table runner and my favors ( I will do away with chair bows if they are going to charge that much!!!) So we will see what Janessa says! I cannot believe they would charge that much! Clearly they don't want us bringing our own decorations- they have gotten smart.
