  1. Ya that's quite surprising....hopefully she gives you other options! She must not know you need a dance floor!
  2. @@shellsal You are quite welcome! I'm happy to pay it forward to all you ladies! I had 41 people at my rehearsal. I think that space may be too small for a reception (it would def work for a cocktail hour) with that many ppl. I'd say 40 and less is fine- there would be a small dance floor but it would work. I'd pick another terrace if I were you for your reception. What are your other options? I have pics of most all the terraces at Moon if you need them.
  3. @@KirstyWass Can you keep your reception on the same terrace as your cocktail hour? There is really no where left to have an outside reception? Are the grand and selva terraces (on the grand side by the pool) taken? We got married Nov 2012 at Sun Palace but stayed at Moon Palace and Moon was where I had my rehersal dinner on the Verando Terrace- it's smaller but I think it would work for 31 ppl if you ask if that one is still available... it's on the grand side as well so it's a little more secluded. I feel like they hopefully have renovated the ballrooms by now- I know they were working on that area when we were there this past November for our anniversary. The only thing I upgraded was I added a orange ribbon to the complimentary cake for $3 to give it a little color instead of being plain and white. Everything else I brought myself for decorations and had the WC set them up. I think I have some pics on my planning thread otherwise I can send you my shutterfly link to see pics if you want.
  4. Kirsty- I did all of the free packages (both ceremony and reception). Where is your current reception location and how many people do you have attending your wedding?
  5. @@shellsal Don't worry- my offsite cordinator was fairly responsive but once you get assigned your onsite cordinator at the 30 day mark you will feel better. In all honesty- these ladies know what they are doing, they could plan the whole wedding for you in those 30 days- but most of us are planners and need everything planned before that! They are there to treat you like a princess and that you will be treated when you arrive...you name it they will make it happen for you!
  6. At Moon I had Karen. I only had my rehersal dinner on the Verando terrace at Moon and she was great- she added some decorations on the tables and I'm sure i I would have asked for colored napkins there she would have done it!
  7. I used all the free packages for the ceremony and reception. The package includes tablecloths and the white folding chairs. My coordinator added orange napkins for a pop of color (orange was one of my colors) along with candles on the table at no extra charge!
  8. Does anyone have contacts at the resort to pre book tours and the spa? Thanks!
  9. Does anyone have contacts at the resort to pre book tours and the spa? Thanks!
  10. Try PSAV- they were a perferred vendor in 2012 when I got married and a lot cheaper!! @tygrrlily Marvin does charge a delivery fee - I think it was like $25 or something...but the resort does not charge you to have the flowers delivered- in fact I never even told the resort I was having outside flowers and my WC never asked- I just picked the color of bouquet for my free one and used the free bout for my husband. I wanted to use the resort's bouquet just in case Marvin didn't deliver my flowers on time- but thankfully I did not need it and it was displayed at the cake table.
  11. Yay! I do know that you now have to pay per hour per table to extend your reception longer than 2 hours (they did not limit the hours of the "unlimited events" in 2012 so I didn't have to pay for my reception from 6-10). Good luck on getting the 75 room nights- shouldn't be too hard if you have at least 30 people staying 5 nights! We had over 100 room nights!
  12. I think the 30 people you are referring to is the dinner reservation for up to 30 people.... this is not needed if you are having a private reception. Typically only people that have a small wedding (20 or less) use this option. There shouldn't be a charge for more than 30 people unless they have changed the packages.... we had 41 people and didn't have to pay anything for our reception!
  13. If you qualify for unlimited events then you will get the cocktail hour and 2 hour reception free!
  14. @ Agreed, it was very safe- I felt safer than any bachelorette party I've gone to in downtown St Louis (where I am from). You don't have a "guide" following you around watching you all night in the states!
  15. Bar crawl for bachelorette parties in Cancun! They provide you transportation to the bars from your hotel and have a "guide" with you to make sure you are safe and take you to 3 different bars/clubs. Such a good time! www.cuncrawl.com
  16. Totally up to you! I had one as both my husband and I lived at home until a month before the wedding when we bought a house and we had NOTHING. Also, the people that could not come to Mexico still wanted to be a part of the wedding so I felt a shower was necessary- I ended up having 3 lol. But if you have everything you need and everyone is coming to your wedding- forgoe it!
  17. yay!! Keep us posted throughout the 9 month journey!
  18. Haha yes not only is he easy on the eyes but he def made sure we had a good time! I loved that he counted all 8 of us up and acted like our bodyguard before switching to a different club!! So are mine- I may be a little biased since it was my bachelorette party but it was def the most fun bachelorette party I've ever been to!!
  19. @@Bella Rios- do the cuncrawl!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did that for my bachelorette party and it was a blast! 8 of us went! Request Jorge if you can!
  20. congrats so exciting!!!!! How long did you try for?
