  1. We chose the Mexican and it was delicious!!!! We chose it since we are in Mexico- why have your wedding dinner be something other than Mexican?!
  2. I replied to you in the 2013 thread- but I paid $232 for the ipod hook up and 1 speaker for 4 hours- but that was for 2012 so their prices may have went up!
  3. I booked in March 2012 for my Nov 2012 wedding- here is who I spoke to- hope she's still there! Dolores Alvarez- Sales Manager- [email protected]
  4. We had 40 guests at our wedding and a wedding party of about 15 people. So I made a wedding day timeline for the guests of the wedding, for the bridesmaids/moms and then for the groomsmen/dads. I handed them out at our rehersal dinner. It was really important for us to have them as we stayed at Moon Palace and the wedding was at Sun Palace so we had to make sure everyone knew what time the private shuttle was coming to pick them up!
  5. We had a friend act as MC- we did everything right away to get it all out of the way... wedding party entrance, then our first dance, then father daughter and mother son dances, then we ate dinner. Then after dinner we did the speeches and cut the cake and then started the real party! You want to start the dancing with a song that is good for all ages to get everyone out on the dance floor- I don't remember what our first song was or else I'd share! Hope that helps!!
  6. Welcome! they should still be in stock at DB- I think that is one of their popular styles- I haven't been to a DB since about April 2012 so I can't promise anything- but good luck!! I orginially wanted orange BM dresses but with my champagne colored dress it made my dress look orange so I had to change the GM's ties to orange and the girls dresses to the royal blue color at DB.
  7. How's everyone doing?!?! We have our open house this weekend- I printed off 800 of the photographers photos and put in Albums- I guess I should finally view our wedding video that my sister's finace taped to see if it's worth showing as well. As of now we have about 50 people RSVP'ed so I'm really hoping all 50 people aren't in our house at one time or we're going to be a little crowded. I'm just having snacky mexican food- tacos and mexican lasgana and dips so I hope people don't expect a full meal or full bar or we are going to run out fast- I bought some beer and margaritas and we have sangria and soda. Has anyone been to an open house party before? I'm hoping I'm doing this all right- I'm just kind of winging it! loll
  8. Those dresses- the orange ones are from David's Bridal as well- those are actually cotton dresses.
  9. I did not because my wedding coordinator showed up to our meeting an hour and a half late so she told me she would not charge me- had she charged me after we waited that long I would have thrown a fit, lol.
  10. I used PSAV and was not charged a vendor fee as they are one of Palace resorts preferred vendors- or they were when I booked my wedding.
  11. I just had my wedding in Nov in Cancun. If you have an iphone and you turn off the data you can ping WiFi if your resort has it and you can imessage other Iphone users. Otherwise we used the app HeyTell and that worked off Wifi as well. We did not use the cellphone as it is like $2 a minute! Our resort also had free calls to the US so that helped out too!
  12. I think you can book your date a year in advance- but that may have changed since I booked in Feb 2012.
  13. Hi Ladies- I recently got married at Sun Palace on November 23rd and would love to pay it forward by answering any questions/ concerns you may have! I also recently got my professional pics back from my photographer if you would like to see anything in particular! Feel free to PM me or ask me anything on this forum!! Your big day will be nothing short of amazing and will be the best day ever!! Shanna
  14. To be quite honest I don't know exactly what time the flowers showed up...I told him to deliver them at 12:30 for our 4pm wedding and they were delivered while we were still in the lobby to check in to our presidential suite- so it couldn't have been any later than 12:45!
  15. Welcome! I'm pretty sure the majority of resorts have overpriced everything, so I'm sure yours are going to be more expensive than Marvin or any outside vendor! Thank you for your kind words! I really did love my flowers they turned out great aside from the fact the ribbon on them was supposed to be royal blue- but only I knew that was the case so it was fine!
  16. I ordered blumeboxes and used the bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces. Got my money worth on those bouquets with Marvin!
  17. I already knew my resort was overpriced via the brochures they sent me- so I knew Marvin was cheaper!
  18. I think they allow semi-private dinners on the balcony (outside seating) of some restaurants like the Brazillian restaurants. I know you cannot have a "private" dinner at the restaraunts.
  19. Yikes! lol Luckily I'm only 25 and none of my friends have babies yet (although a few are trying to get pregnant) so the pressure is not as high for me, but people do still make comments!! Hope everyone has a wonderful married 2013!!!
  20. Congrats! I just got married at Sun Palace on November 23rd and us and 40 of our guests stayed at Moon Palace for a week and loved it!!!! Let me know if you have any questions or comments and I'd be happy to answer! Happy Planning!
  21. I added and guest for every one of our single friends. If our friend was currently dating someone- I addressed the invite to both of them. Turned out that not one of our single friends brought a guest as everyone that went were all friends and all get along but if someone who really wanted to come needed a roommate- it's a kind gesture to allow them to bring someone if they do not feel comfortable coming alone or if they have no other rooming options as NO ONE wants to room alone- it costs more than two people in one room!
  22. Haha yep! Luckily we have friends that are actually trying to get pregnant now- so that takes the pressure off of us, haha. I'm going to start saying NEVER lol.
  23. I used Marvin and had no problem! I brought my own chair sashes and table runners, used the bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces and bought Blumeboxes to put them in along with maracas on the table as favors and it worked out great!! Way cheaper than Zuniga!
  24. I was just there a month ago and we stayed in the colibri section in Nizuc (right next to the Catholic chapel and I thought that section was perfect! Right in the middle of everything! I would stay away from the Sunrise side and say go with the Nizuc or Grand (esp if you can get the section of the grand next to Nizuc and not at the far end) The grand rooms are bigger and quieter and nicer but you can't go wrong with either the Nizuc or Grand in my opinion! Golf carts will take you anywhere if you don't want to walk! Have fun! I wish I was going back we had so much fun there!
  25. Ours was great!! spent christmas eve with my family and christmas Day with the hubbies! We opened gifts and had alone time in the AM- I was sure spoiled for our first married Christmas and I look forward to many more Christmas' with the hubby! Now I have to clean the living room tonight- covered in wrapping paper and plastic wrap, haha.
