  1. Your WC will tell you you need about 5 or 6 songs..I had 3 for before the ceremony (but you could probably have 4 just in case) 1 for the bridal party, 1 for my entrance, and one for the recessional...then they repeated the beginning music while we were toasting with the champagne. You will not have music at your cocktail hour unless you are paying for it. If you have a nice wedding coordinator and your cocktail hour and reception are right next to each other, your WC may end up having the tech come early and play music during the cocktail hour- that is what my WC did for me free of charge! I don't think it really matters either way though- your guests will have the sounds of the ocean and good conversations to keep them occupied!
  2. You'll figure it all out and regardless of how it turns out it will be your perfect dream wedding and you will be able to include Elisha one way or another!
  3. You'll figure something out!! At least she can be involved with everything leading up to the big day..and hey you never know- with your wedding still over a year away- a lot of things can change between now and then!
  4. I think a lot of brides used the Brazilian restaurant as their "semi private" reception- they have patios outside the restaurant so I think you can get your table set up out there...they have really good food too! Hopefully your WC can help you with ideas with this- let me know what she says and I will let you know if the restaurants were good! We really only ate at the restaurants on the Nizuc and Grand side- I didn't journey over to the Sunrise side at all for meals.
  5. You will need to pay your purchase order 30 days before your wedding date. Marisol will give you the final purchase order a few days before your 30 days to look it over! And just a piece of advice- make sure you print out everything!! Moon Palace tried to charge me for everything from my wedding that I already paid for via my purchase order! luckily I had the purchase order and the receipt for the credit card payment from Marisol printed and in my binder or else I would have been double charged when I checked out! ugh I was annoyed with that!
  6. I brought my own centerpieces- and they set them up for me free of charge (only because my wp showed up to our meeting an hour and a half late so she waived the cost) I believe they charge $150+ set up fee if you bring your own decorations depending on how much you bring. I just told Marisol I would decide whether I was going to set it up or if I would have the resort do it when I got there so do not add that to my purchase order.
  7. Aww I'm so sorry to hear that- that really sucks!!! She will be with you in spirit!!
  8. oh those are gorgeous!! Purple or grey would look amazing with those flowers! I would have done purple but my MOH's bridesmaid dresses were purple so I wanted to do something different. You have plenty of time to figure it all out girl- just make a checklist and check them off one at a time. We got engaged Christmas 2011, picked a date at the end of Jan 2012 and sent out our Save the dates and our wedding was Nov 23, 2012. It was nice because our guests had about a month- the end of Feb to put down there $50 deposit for the hotel so by March I knew who was going! We did have 2 couples cancel in May when the flight deposit was due and then had another couple book in August but I was glad I didn't have to hound my guests for months to book!
  9. Thanks so much! It was amazing and the best week of our lives! Glad to hear- I'm sure they will find something amazing and it will look great!! What color flowers are you planning on going with?! Well as long as they get along that is all that matters! I had 6 bridesmaids and 2 attendants and aside from my sister all the girls were friends so that worked out well! Oh believe me time will fly by and your big day will be here before you know it! Enjoy the journey- it is fun and will be all over in the blink of an eye!
  10. All these dresses are amazing and so unique. I can finally share my dresses with you!!! First is my wedding dress and second is my trash the dress dress. Most people can't even tell they are two different dresses! And my trash the dress:
  11. Thank you. I don't consider that an insult at all. It is your day and you get to do whatever you want!! I doubt they will dress inappropriately as I'm sure they've attended if not been in other weddings. And if they have better fashion sense then you then def let them do what they want! But I know if I was in there shoes I would at least want to know a color or two and go from there just to have something to go off of. Otherwise it can be quite overwhelming just picking a dress. Are these girls friends? Maybe they will cooralate with each other anyways and you will have nothing to worry about! Keep us posted with what they decide I'm sure it will be wonderful!
  12. Do whatever you want!! If your mom wants to throw you a shower, great!! I had two showers- my mother in law hosted one for my husband's side of the family and friends and then my bridesmaids threw me one with my side of the family (I have a small family) and my friends. It worked out great!! And was a lot of fun!
  13. I agree- at least pick one or two colors to give them a vision/ direction to go with. Then they can choose their own style. I went to David's Bridal- picked out a color "horizon blue" and told them to pick a short dress- it worked out great and they all looked amazing!!
  14. I bought my groomsmen's linen pants from Old Navy for like $20 and they were perfect! Congrats and good luck!
  15. Yaaay!! congrats Jenni- I knew if you didn't back down everything would work out for you!
