  1. You're welcome!! Feel free to PM me at anytime- I usually am on here during the week quite frequently if you have any other questions/concerns!! Just remember- don't stress out about anything minor- it WILL all work out once you get there and your wedding week will be how you always envisioned it and probably even better (I've only pictured myself at a destination wedding since i started dating my husband- so 7 1/2 years, before that I would have never even given it a thought!)
  2. I'm sorry for giving you the wrong information- I never saw these pool access rooms so there must not be many of them but I'd be interested to know where they are/ what room type they are as well! I think there are mosquitos everywhere- but it just depends what time of the year it is whether there are a lot or not. I did not purchase a package- I used the complimentary package so I cannot answer this from experience but from what I do know is that they just want to make the bride happy so I would wait til you get to Cancun and discuss it with your wedding coordinator- they will pretty much do anything you want in expectation that you will tip well!
  3. congrats!!! At the moment your WC should charge you $150 to set up for the ceremony and reception and the price is determined on the WC- so it could go up depending on how much you have or like me, you could have your WC show up an hour and a half late to your on site meeting and then she doesn't charge you a dime lol.
  4. Here are my starfish aisle decorations I made for the ceremony! They are super easy to make- let me know if you have any questions!
  5. I had lots of blue since blue was one of my colors- I had blue jewelry and my garter was St Louis Blues and my undies had blue writing!
  6. Just wanted to bump this thread if there are any new Sun Palace brides out there that need help with anything please let me know!
  7. seriously...he tells me this like a week before the wedding and the shirt arrived like 2 days before we left for Mexico....ugh lol.
  8. Thanks! I was pretty proud of myself. I'm sure I spent $100- $150 on decorations that I brought down to Mexico myself. I got lucky and booked my wedding before they put a time limit on the unlimited events so I didn't have to pay for the extra time.
  9. Yes you can!! I had 40 guests- 99 room nights and I got the complimentary package. I paid a total of $230 (cost of ipod tech/hookup) for my wedding ceremony/ reception (not counting the decorations I brought with me). I got the complimentary wedding package, cocktail hour and wedding reception for free!!! When you bring in 40 people to their resort for 99 room nights- they should comp you for all the money the resort is getting paid!!!
  10. The guys got the nice white shirts wherever they wanted- I think most went to Kohls. My husband had to buy a new french cuff shirt from Brooks Brothers for the wedding. lol.
  11. Yours should be fine- my dress had an actual champagne underlay with ivory lace. Before I "said yes to the dress" I held up the horizon blue and the orange at David's Bridal next to my dress and we realized that the orange wasn't going to work and then I stood next to the maniquin that was wearing a tan suit and it looked good! Haha- picking the "one" was a big deal to me- I didn't want to mess that up
  12. They were $15 silk ties. I wanted the pop of orange for the guys. I orginally wanted my bridesmaids to wear orange dresses but the orange ended up making my dress look more orange than champagne- so hello orange ties for the guys lol.
  13. Do you need ties? I got the ties from thetiebar.com and their sandals from Kohls. The total spent on the guys pants, shoes and ties was $60 a piece. They all supplied their own white button down shirt and brown belt so they could spend what they wanted on those! Let me know what else you are looking for and I'll let you know where I bought mine!
  14. You are welcome! Remember that I booked my wedding in Feb 2012- and Palace resorts are known for changing the rules when it comes to weddings- so if this policy has changed, I'm sorry! If you ladies have any other palace related wedding questions or questions about the resort let me know!
  15. Well just 4 of you shouldn't be bad then- I would allow 80 min for each person just in case- it's better to allow for extra time than be crunched for time! I did not have anyone under the age 21 at my wedding- so I can't be of help there- sorry!
  16. See- I told you they were good quality and WELL worth the money!
  17. Hi!! I def can: Here was my timeline- my wedding was at 4pm because I got married in November and the sun sets early. There were 10 people getting their hair done- so the golf course spa has 5 hair stylists: All 10 of us met in the lobby at 8:30 to catch the shuttle to the golf course. They allow for 80 min appt times but no one took more than 50 min. 9am- 5 girls hair appt 10:30- other 5 girls. We were all done and ready to go before noon. We actually got married at Sun Palace so we caught the noon shuttle from MP to Sun Palace so we got checked into our room around 12:30 and had until about 2 to get our make-up done (we all did our own/ my MOH did mine) Then we had our first look around 2 (I think it ended up being a little later as everything never goes as according to planned) and then we took wedding party pictures til about 3:45 and started the ceremony at 4. What time is your ceremony? I would def recommend getting your hair done early and then you can relax and have lunch- otherwise you might run out of time and have to cut things like pictures short (we did not but I have heard of plenty of brides having to do that). 18. If you do the complimentary package there is no deposit. I did not have to pay MP a dime until 30 days before my wedding! Congrats to you!
  19. I had the complentary package and thought it was great! Here is a pic! Congrats! and feel free to private message me if you have any questions!
  20. My dress dried in a day- just hang it outside over the balcony of your room- the warm weather and sun will dry it out no problem!
  21. Stef- I ordered my bows and runners from efavormart.com when they were running a sale. I got the orange organza ones. They worked out great- I don't think it matters if someone "eats" on the runner vs eating on the tablecloth- same thing. And yes there are chair bows on the chairs- I enough for every other chair- I thought every chair was a little too much. Karla is who I used at the spa- she's great- I contacted her like 5 months before the wedding- she told me I had to wait til 2 months before to make my appointments and she ended up booking all 10 of us about 3 or 4 months out!
  22. I don't believe they have a limit on unlimited events- I'm not sure why anyone would want a private buffet and bar every night though and there are tons of delicious restaraunts to eat at and that seems like a lot of work! I ordered my blumeboxes from the blumebox.com website- I ordered the tallest ones- which I think may be 8 in? I can't remember but I know I just ordered to tallest ones cause I didn't know how tall my bouquets would be!
