  1. We did the first look thing as well the day of the wedding- otherwise we wouldn't have gotten in our all pics before dark. I liked sharing that special moment just the two of us before the ceremony! Since the dress was different for my TTD I was fine with it- it just felt like I was playing dress up! I wouldn't have wanted to take our TTD pictures in my real wedding dress the day before the wedding.
  2. Thank you! I was very happy with how they turned out! We ended up having to do these the day before our wedding so that is why I had to buy a different dress..but people think that i just added the blue sash for these pictures and the dresses are the same so it worked out after a little help from my husband's grandma to alter the dress a bit!
  3. Congrats!! You are going to have an amazing time!! When is your wedding? I will be there from Nov 25-30 with my husband for our 1 year anniversary!!! Can't wait!!!!!!
  4. Lol good! You are quite welcome! Nicole, I rented the ipod for my entire reception! We had a friend act as MC and do all the announcing and made playlists for each thing (first dance, cake cutting, dance music, dinner music etc) so the ipod tech knew when to play what. It took me probably 4 hours to make the music but it was worth saving the $800 to me! It worked out great! Just make sure you tell the tech not to let anyone change the music!
  5. I'm not sure who you are talking to..but I was married in November so I'll put in my two sense lol. The weather was perfect in November (we are going back the same week for our anniversary!) It was high 70s low 80s during the day and then in the high 60s low 70s at night- bring a sweater cause when it's windy it can get chilly at night close to the beach! The ocean was cold- but you can still manage to get almost waist deep and be fine! My wedding was at 4pm as well. The sun will set around 5:15 (I think- there is a website you can check for sunset time- just goggle sunset time in november). My schedule was: First look photos (which I recommend for the limited time you have after the ceremony before the sun sets) at 2:15 2:30- 3:45 group photos (wedding party and bride and groom) 4- 5 ceremony, toast, family pics and more wedding pics- sunset pics 5-6 cocktail hour (more pics of my husband and I- we turned the wedding party loose around 5 when the cocktail hour started and we joined everyone around 5:30 and it was almost dark by 5:30) 6-10 reception Let me know if you have any more questions about November in Mexico!
  6. I will be there from November 25-30 for our 1 year anniversary trip!! Anyone getting married then and want 2 wedding crashers?!
  7. Just wanted to bump this thread again!! Anyone thinking about or have booked their wedding at Sun Palace feel free to ask questions or PM me!! I know there is not a lot of Sun Palace bride information so I wanted to be able to help any new brides! I got married at Sun Palace on 11/23/2012 and it was amazing!! We are returning to Moon Palace for our anniversary and will make a day trip to Sun Palace one of the days we are there!
  8. They are located in the golf section which is very secluded and not near the Grand, Nizuc and Sunrise sections on the beach. They have to give you a golf cart cause it would be probably a 45 walk anywhere lol. Check out a map of the resort- you should be able to get an idea of how secluded that area is! We just booked our 1 year anniversary trip for this November in the grand section! We stayed in Nizuc for our wedding but wanted to try the Grand as it was quieter and nicer in my opinion!
  9. I handed out most of them before we left since I supplied luggage tags for everyone (and I didn't want to have to pack 20 bags myself and bring an extra suitcase! Most of our guest were local but the others I brought with me (only 3 bags) and gave it to them when I saw them on the beach!
  10. No problem! No I did not- I was married on the beach and knew they wouldn't allow them there. They may allow you to use them in the gazabo on the aisle or something. Ya if it's windy it won't work on teh tables either..I would ask your WC when you get there if you can use them unless they are in big packages and you don't want to pack them.
  11. IT was $230 for 4 hours and 1 speaker. I don't think they do it on an hourly rate but you can ask!
  12. We used our laptop and had playlists on itunes for everything (Dinner music, first dance, reception music, etc) It worked out great and was way cheaper than a DJ!
  13. 1) yes I just brought it in the david's bridal garment bag and the put it in an overhead bin. My dress was lace so it wasn't big or poufy or anything. 2) Well I had 2 WC- since my rehearsal was at Moon I tipped that girl $10 cause she didn't really do anything ( I met her that morning to go over the menu and she carted us over to the terrace so we could see where it was at). I tipped my wedding coordinator (the one at Sun that helped me with the planning) $50. I felt that was an appropriate amount- she did a great job with everything and didn't charge me to set up the decorations (well she did show up to our meeting almost 2 hours late so she better not have lol). We tipped each wait staff person $5 or $10 (I can't remember now). You have to hand them each individually the money or I feel that one person will pocket all the money lol.
  14. The flight attendants felt so bad for me they gave us free drinks on the plane and tried to upgrade us to first class but my husband turned it down so we could sit with our family on the plane (I still think that was a wrong decision on his part lol).
  15. If you are anything like me you will be incredibly stressed the night before you leave..my husband hadn't packed- his suitcase broke as we zipped it up so we had to borrow one from a friend who lucikly had an extra...and when we left I initally forgot my wedding dress- but hadn't left the subdivison so it was okay. Then we get to the airport and I realize that my luggage isn't there (neither my suitcase of clothes nor the suitcase full of wedding stuff) and burst into tears in the middle of the crowded airport. We had carpooled and my luggage that I left in the middle of the living room the night before at my inlaws house was not grabbed. So thankfully my husband's grandpa was able to make it with our luggage with 2 minutes to spare before the cutoff to check our bags....after that it was smooth sailing... it's funny now but OMG I almost died (the luggage would have came 2 days later with the rest of our guests but I would have had NOTHING to wear and would have had to postpone our meeting with the WC!). So if you have any bumps in the road..just remember it will all work out! I forgot all about the suitcase incident the moment we arrived at MP lol. I can't wait to see pics!!
  16. Vanessa your bags look awesome!! I love that color purple! I'm so excited for you!!! I am booking our anniversary trip back to Moon Palace tonigh!!! I can't wait to go back in less than 6 months! We are going to stay in the grand section this time!
  17. Yes that is what I used for my boarding pass invites and my pre-travel brochures!
