  1. Thanks guys! We had a blast doing the shot! Miljan made it fun, kept us relaxed, and gave me some of the best pics I've ever had! It was fun watching him work - he'd kick off his flip flops to compose each shot! It was like being barefoot helped him to release his creative energy! And....he's quite attractive!
  2. Hi V! While we ending up skipping our planned symbolic wedding in DR, we did have a fantastic photo shoot with HDC last week. The pics aren't of a wedding, but hopefully this will give you an idea of the quality of their work and creativity. Working with Arnaud and Miljan (our photographer) was a joy! We had a small hiccup getting started because of security/management at our resort not communicating, but HDC was doing everything possible to make it work, including Miljan spending almost two hours waiting to get into the resort and Arnaud being willing to work with us to reschedule if that became necessary. I would highly recommend working with them and I know I'll schedule them for another family shoot on my next trip to DR! This link shows 100 of the 135 pics that Miljan took of us. I haven't sorted through, so there are a few almost duplicates here. https://picasaweb.google.com/dreed66/PuntaCana2011?authkey=Gv1sRgCOjz8PG6oPnuqAE# Denise
  3. MissMeliss - I'll be there in a couple weeks and will keep an eye out for wedding setups and will take pics when I see them.
  4. We're going to call ours a reception/house re-warming since it will be like a brand new home...and our first home together!
  5. We've let our family and close friends know the plan because we've begun gathering dates that key folks aren't available. We're just planning on sending out invitations once we have the date set.
  6. Our AHR is going to be at least a couple of months after the wedding. We're in the process of renovating/enlarging my fiance's home and want to have the AHR there. Our wedding is in April and the house won't be finished until June. We know our out of town family will want to see the house, so we've decided to wait until we have a good idea of when all the work will be completed before setting a date.
  7. There are several registries that can list cash - MyRegistry.com is one that lets you designate a purpose (Honeymoon fund/Home Down Payment fund/etc.) for cash gifts. You can also link to registries at several different stores to add items for those that would prefer to buy a gift rather than cash.
  8. The resort confirmed that I don't need to buy a day pass....unless he plans to eat at the resort!
  9. Tiffany - The wedding coordinator is Claribel Pena - [email protected]. Emy Rose, her assistant is very responsive - [email protected].
  10. I've hired HDC as my photographers for my wedding at Real Arena. The resort hasn't said anything about fees for outside vendors, and I don't want to bring this to their attention if I don't have to! Has anyone used an outside vendor at Real Arena recently? I'm seeing that some resorts charge flat fees ($300 or so) and others require a day pass for the photographer.
  11. Thanks - I've seen the Tommy Bahama dress and actually like that except for that bottom tier! I'm a stickler for natural fibers whenever possible and usually buy more formal dresses in silk, but silk just isn't practical for the beach - unless I can find a washable silk.
  12. Is anyone else planning to wear less formal dresses for a wedding in the sand? I'm looking for dresses in cotton or linen, in tea length or shorter, and having a hard time! I can't imagine that there isn't more demand for something more beach-y! Any ideas?
