Same here. me and my FI have been engaged for 1 1/2 yrs and since the moment we got engaged in Cancun, We told everyone as soon as we got back its going to be in Cancun!! Here i am 6 months before and everyone has an excuse  and then its funny cuz before my std's went out people were asking so whens the wedding and all the details and oh i cant wait to go and these are the same people who received the std and have decided not to go, mind you i had my MOH call today a few of them to see wuz up since its 6 months away and 90% of the ones she called said there not going, it would have been nice to have let me know since i did ask for RSVP Jan 1st just to get a rough idea .. soo frustrated..i need to  ..

makes me want to just elope. cuz everyone i just going to complain and complain and complain..im supposed to me excited and happy about my wedding yet im not and it really saddens me...i know people say all that matters is you and your FI, but is it all worth it? i might as well just elope and save that money towards a house.. this is crazy!!!!!!!! any thought?????

So does the light underneath the table come with alll the packages????

So i just noticed the price to have a justice of the piece or minister $600!!!!!!! my gosh.. t... my wedding will be symbolic as I'm getting married in my state and the JP only cost about $150............!!! i mean I'm going with the complimentary package since we will be staying in a master suite but i was looking to see if maybe i should get a package but now seeing the $600!!!   that's crazy!!.. at the beginning of last year it was $400 .. wow.. i guess ill stick to my complimentary wedding and save those $600  wow..(SMH) I just feel like we are getting them lots of business by having our weddings there and bringing people and having them stay there and they just trying to squeeze every penny out of you with high cost and all these fees and what not..

I was 22 when i first went to this resort,  (whichis fairly young) It all depends the type of person you are. We are young couple who love to have fun but arent going to be obnoxious about it.. thats what the clubs are for to let loose. This was our first real Vacation together and went all out and stayed at the Royal in a Master Suite.We werent the only young people there, People hjust have to be aware that this is a high end resort and act that way..  The good thing about the Royal is that it doesnt really cater to a young crowd , its not advertised like a party town so a lot of guest that are into that cuz they think of Cancun and think of The Real World ,and think thats what it is.. that they wont find at the royal.

And YES your Aunt sounds exactly like...basically anyone I talk to!  I get a lot of Mexico/Cancun resistance from anyone who hears I'm thinking about it - even people who aren't even close to being invited.  So annoying!

I asked about the completely biodegradable ones, but was finally told the resort does not permit them.  It's a bummer, but my guests didn't know I was planning on doing it, so they won't be missed.  I am going to do either the mariachi band or cigar roller to spice things up a bit.

 

Chin up.  It is frustrating to realize they are not as accommodating as we initially thought, but our weddings will be beautiful and every one of our guests will be jealous they didn't think of a destination wedding  

 

Soo upset, after my resort told me it was okay to have them at the wedding.. supposdly Cancun doesnt allow this!!!!!!!!!!!.. anyone having this problem with Cancun?? Apparently this must me new since just a month ago it was okay and now its not!!.. im sooooo upset!!!!!!!!!

does anyone knows if for The Royal In Cancun you have to pay the $350 vendor fee..!!!?????

My WC told me there is a promotion, the thing is you must buy 3 to get them for $60 a piece.... but its worth it considering one all day pass is 100.....

Hi ALmah,

Well right now the resort is having a promotion for day passes, you must buy 3 but each cost about $60 so thats good compared to the $100 you save a lot. and the 60 is for the all day pass they have i believe a $40 for times of 9-5 so that can work too.. Another thing is you can always go to Gran Caribe instead. My guest arent all staying for the week some are just going for 3 days so thats another option and the Beach is public and ive heard of people saying they havent gotten caught

Yea i figured they wouldnt be able to RSVP, but i told peeople that that date is just a rough estimate to know if they think they would be able to or absoloutly NO,  like ive had a coupl eof people that in the beginning has said i wouldbt miss it for nothing but now 2 are prego, the opther just moved, the other might take her kids to disney, so now i have about 6 absoultyl NO's so i might extend invites to some that i couldnt invite but now can.

yea althgouh the beach is not private its semi-private my dream is and always been on the beach, the only expection i would do it the gazebo if godforbid it rains which im already freaking out about weather but you can have the gazebo for the reception? or the ballroom?

im getting frustrated with the royal cuz i feel like some brides have gotten away with certain things and here i am asking my WC and she says no. although another bride has gotten it.. i dont understand!!

I am beyondddddd frustrated with the wedding coordinators at realresorts. I pretty sure that anyone that comes to MX will stay at the Royal. They only have 1-2 areas that host private receptions for parties less than 50 people.

 

The only private reception place they have (which I took out of desperation) is the rooftop terrace on the gran caribe side (green floor, ugh). I also have to have the cocktail hour up there because they can't squeeze my cocktail hour on the beach by pelicanos which is where my ceremony will be.

I am seriously considering having the reception at another hotel. Most of my family who are coming is staying at the Royal, but I do not like the idea of having the reception on a rooftop that is made for over 150+ people!

 

I really really don't know what to do, but I guess I am acting like a bridezilla right now.

 

Would it be crazy to push my date forward or back a day so I can get a better location?

Does anyone know what is the civil ceremony reading that the officiant read??????

WWhose your WC??, The minumin for a private is 20 people, so I will be paying for 20 wether 20 go or not cuz my dream is to have a beach reception . Im hoping that 20 will go but with just immediate family it is about 15 people, i have invited about 40 people, but might invite some more since i have received ddef no from some inviteed.

I just feel soo frustrated because i dont hear anyone talking about booking there trip !!!!! i dont want to be in people's face about it.. cuz i understand that a lot are waiting for tax returns but give me an answer of wether ur going to try or you cant go. some have had the courtesy to tell me they cannot attend because of $$ or other reaons. Im anxious since i put an RSVP date of Jan 1st thought i highly doubt anyone pad attention!!!, how should i go about this??

so im about six months til my wedding and I HAVE NOTHING PLANNED!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING!!!!... im kind of freaking out but i cant really do anything since i have no idea how many people are actually coming!!!!... i dont want to order things in bulk if some arent going to go.. How did you girls manage this?????????!!! help.. any advice!!!! any of you girls used the resorts centerpieces????? pics??
