I have a question for everyone....As far as registry goes we didnt really want to do a traditional registry because we already bought a house together last year and pretty much have everything we need. We would LOVE if we can do a registry to where it pretty much just pays for our honeymoon (i.e. the hotel and excursions). Has anyone done this before and/or know a website or something that we could do something like that on?? THanks -

Bridal Shower Etiquette - Who to invite???

I would think that having the shower after the wedding is ridiculous. I would just make sure that if you can convince her to have to shower before the wedding, that the people invited have already received an invite for AHR. So they dont feel left out. If you have not determined an AHR exact date, then just make sure you send those people on the guest list for your shower a save the date with a statement at the bottom saying something like "there will be a a local reception after the wedding....date to be determined". -
Is everyone doing an OOT bag per person or per couple or room???

It took a few days after I told Ana I wanted to secure my date. She then sent me the form I needed to fill out and I had to scan the card and my ID with the paperwork. After that, I was kinda freaking out because she never sent me a confirmation email or anything! So after a week or so I emailed her asking if I was ever going to get a confirmation email because I knew the money had already been withdrawn from my account. She than emailed me back saying simply this "this is you confirmation for you date." HA thanks for the security!! Anyway I just laughed it off and hope my date is good. lol

THanks Missy! I was so wondering about that. I have no clue what any of that meant. Are those "free room" discounts offered from the resort? And did your TA tell you about them?

Ashley, Your wedding was sooo beautiful. I think those are the best pictures Ive seen yet from the resort photographers!!! I do have a couple questions....Did you get your cake from the resort too or did you use an outside vendor? Also, what time was your cermony? Seemed like perfect weather! You looked amazing!

We are in the same boat! We also bought a house last year and have everything we pretty much need. Is anyone else going somewhere different for their honeymoon? Whether it be a different hotel or different location in general?

Sarcrook, I am too a hairstylist! Thats so funny, I feel like Ive seen a good amount on this website. Also, thank you for the Liz fields bridesmaid dresses too. I also sent them to all my bridesmaids and they loved them. My color is teal/tiffanybluish color and it has been pretty hard finding a color that is right and not too blue. So we are going to be exactly one month after you February 24, 2012!

Hairdos: I had the same problem choosing between the 2 resorts. I choose DRC because it was newer and I am getting married at the end of February and I didnt want to run into the "spring breakers". If you have more of a younger crowd cancun might be good, but I really like how new DRC was. Also, DRC has more restaurants which was a plus for me. Just my thought.

I thought it was 3 days before for a legal. I am getting married at home first and just having a symbolic wedding in mexico. For a symbolic wedding there is no minimum required days before hand, so we are just arriving 2 days before to finalize the weddingdetails.

I was dealing with that drama from the family in laws too. But I did a lot of research and was double reassured from my TA that it was not a problem what so ever and she had no problem sending us there in a heartbeat.

HI! I am too planning a March 2012 wedding. We wanted March 9, 2012! So hopefully we will be the same weekend! And my travel agent said it a high season and that i will be barely missing the spring breakers. Just and FYI

Does anyone know how the open bar works? I went over some numbers today and its seems crazy for 50 guests and to spend $4,000 on an open bar for 5 hrs when all the guests are paying for the all inclusive anyway?? Cant we just walk into the bar in the hotel and get a drink anyway? (my FI's question)
