Holy Moly I get married in 2 weeks!!!! They cakes that are included in the wedding package is a VERY plain and simple sheet cake. Anything extra, is extra $. We upgraded a little. I just sent Yamina a cake I saw online and told her what I wanted a little different and then she just got back to me on a price. Same with flowers and centerpieces. Everything they "show you" (email) whats included is very simple. So I just found pictures I liked online and emailed them to her, and just asked if it was going to be extra and how much extra. Pretty much have to figure it all out on your own because its not like you can sit down with the baker or the florist and discuss what your taste is and what you like/dislike. I LOVE tres leches cake. So we are choosing that. But I have realized every tres leches cake I have tried have been a little different but it is very moist (almost runny) because it is a cake that is soaked in 3 different milks. If I can recall from the one time I made it, its evaporated milk, condensed milk and ????? I forgot the third! lol P.s. I ordered my chair sashes and table runners from weddinglinensdirect.com. They are tiffany blue/teal satin and I will be selling them when I return if any one is interested. I think I have like 50 sashes and 10 table runners. (they come in a pack of 10) Let me know if you are interested!

So I didn't know you couldn't use reguler rose petals there because I saw on their a la carte decorations list" a bag of rose" as one of the extras you could purchase so I assumedit was acceptable and you could just get those for the aisle. Ill have to ask that. Also, Dovi- you have to contact the photographer on your own. I had to ask Yamina the same thing and she gave me their email. Is anyone else worried about the possibilty of the bottles of goodies your bringing down for the OOT bags exploading or leaking from the flight ?? For example like travel size sunscreens/ aloe/lotion...I have them all in a goodies bag and I would hate for something to leak and ruin everything else in the Clear bags.

I am pretty sure the patio and pool deck are different. And I dont think the patio is El Patio restaurant either. I think it is just closer to the hotel and I think has awnings too. Not 100% but pretty sure. I am also a hairstylist and luckily one of my bridesmaids is also a hairstylist and will be doing my hair. And another one of my co workers will be attending the wedding so I am just going to pay her to do the bridesmaids/moms hair. My girlfriend also works for Bobbi Brown makeup and I am also paying her to do the girls makeup. This will be my gift to the BMs. I am just letting the hotel do my centerpieces because I cant even imagine bringing them with us and really not as important to me. I give you guys credit for bringing it with you because they are pretty expensive at the hotel. How do you plan on bringing the branches down without them breaking?

mrskatieperry: I am not doing the cocktail hour and therefore they are just giving me a lump sum to credit towards the whole wedding bill. Also, the buffet and plated dinners I believe are the same price. But as I was looking over it, it is so hard to choose plated because we havent tried any of it. We are just going to go with the buffett because I do not feel like adding extra stress on asking all the people what their choice was in food. And the buffett has so much on it, I feel more comfortable for guests to have more options on the buffett than just a selected few on plated that I have never tried my self.

Sooo....I am 8 weeks away from our wedding today, and with all the holiday stress added, I definetly didnt need Yamina not responding to my emails for weeks. Finally the other night after several emails, I get a phone call from Yamina! Which was so suprising because I never thought I would be able to talk to her over the phone (because I dont have an int. phone). Anyway, I'm glad I got to talk to her because 9 months ago when I first started planning this wedding with my original WC at DRC Ana, she had told me I could only have plated dinners if everyone got the same thing. (i.e. everyone would have to get chicken) So of course this whole time I'm thinking Im settling for the buffett when Yamina tells me that I can do a plated dinner and that she would just need a head count of who wants what ahead of time!! What?! Well thanks for telling me this now, after my invites have already been out and sent back!! WTH? So now I'm debating on whether I should bother all the 45 people that are coming to ask what they would like to eat or just do buffett? Tigerlily, (or any other past bride with plated dinners)-what plated food for dinner did you go with or recommend??

Tigerlily- you are so beautiful!! You wedding looked great. I have a few questions if you dont mind.... First, I like your lanterns as your centerpieces and I was wondering if the resort had them or if you brought them down? And if the resort had them, if you dont mind me asking how much they charged you per. Also, you guest book looked interesting and I noticed you had a fuji instanx camera (which I am having as well) and was wondering what you did as your guest book and/or with the camera? One more questions, I see you had fireworks (not the ones on the dance floor)....how much did this cost if you dont mind me asking?? Thanks!

cbandemer- you are so right about ignoring everyones comments and opinions. I am a little over 2 months away from my wedding and if I hear my inlaws talk about "the safety" of mexico one more time I swear.....UGH! Anyway, I was wondering what eveyone is going to do about a "card box"?? I really dont know how many people will bring cards down and I'm not sure if I wanna lug a big box down, so I'm wondering what everyone else was thinking?? Thanks

When do you need them by? I will probably have about 10 or so after my wedding in February.

Dimples- I also have gotten emails from Gerente (in place of Ana) which is actually Yamina. She said Gerente is spanish for manager or something, but she is the wedding manager and she said she will taking over my wedding now! Which I am totally ok with because Ana was driving me nuts! Anyway, that is awesome about your vendors! What great news! If you dont mind me asking, what kind of cake are you getting and how much are they charging you? If you dont mind? THanks
