Good attitude to take! You are right everyone has different experiences and if you go into it super prepared and organized you should not have any issues with Janielle. Yes you are correct, it did appear to be they are renovating building 6. But dont get me wrong building 6 is still gorgeous!! Building 5 just looks more brighter/newer or something (I can not place my finger on the difference), it may be due to building 5 side of the building getting more sun, I am not sure.

No worries Susan, I completely understand! All that matter is we all had fun in the end!! Yes, Leah my husband had a separate room the night before the wedding. We did receive an upgrade as well. Like Leah said building 5 is better. Our upgraded room was in building 6 and we requested to switch. Ocean front and Ocean view (direct view of the ocean/front facing rooms) 3rd and up seemed to have smaller balconies (though still Huge). The higher floors all have Ocean view 3rd and up, though it may not be directly on, you can still see the ocean. If you book a standard suite, and request a high floor, you have a view of the ocean and pool with large balcony, which is even better. For future Brides, if you can swing getting the Presidental Suite, I highly reccommend it! It was absolutely AMAZING!!! It was a nice touch to finish out our week there, as the last night we were able to have a final goodbye party with all of our guests. (I will include pictures in review)

I apologize for the headache! I did not have a watch on so exact times I am not sure sure of what time it was when i walked out of Port Maria but I know what time I got to my room and you saw me on the way there. I do not think it works in our favor when we attempt to compare situations. I have learn when approaching the staff to address my situation only because they do not take too well to bringing up others. I am sure if we compared wedding bills from weddings across the past year there would be many differences, though as we all know there is not any flat out price.

LOL! Yes $250 is freaking NUTS!!! WTF! We ended up tipping the band, bartenders, dj, waitstaff, and Janielle (though I reduced hers after the whole decoration ordeal).

Did you all tip the staff at the reception? It is SO weird the $250 transportation charge. What the heck is that?

I had to track her down (but I know she was SUPER busy that weekend). I even came down after your reception because I knew she would be there and I spotted her by the bathrooms and asked her about where my decorations were. I didnt really want to bother her much because I didnt want to take away from your wedding and Leah's wedding but I got a little worried when it was 10pm the night before we left and all of our stuff was missing. She did email me the week after the wedding to thank me and all, since we left her a card and tip at the front desk when we checked out.

One issue I did have was, like Susan said, getting back my decorations. I bought TONS of stuff for the reception and requested it back ASAP. I ran into Janielle after our wedding multiple times and asked about it. I received our bags with our decorations in it the morning of departure (all thrown in and mangled). Some stuff was missing, but at that point I just gave up and reduced my tip. That is the one thing that left a sore taste in my mouth and after reading Susan's comments I remembered. One thing I wish I would of did the night of the wedding was go around to all the tables and pick up left behind favors (as we had custom M&Ms, Pashminas and Fans)... but I was having too much fun that was the last thing on my mind.
