  1. Curious Question... Has anyone ever seen or heard of a shoe with a custom footbead? I remember a while back US weekly did a special on Eva Longoria and Tony Parker's wedding, and there was a picture of her red wedding shoes with a gold inscripture of their names and wedding date. I have looked everywhere for this but I can't find it (wish I would of kept that mag). I am sure this is a celebrity thing, only created for the rich a famous but just thought you would be the ladies to ask? Thanks loves!!
  2. Sorry you are having that fight! UGH!! I feel your pain, I started to verbally mention the other resorts but thankfully I quickly decided that if I allowed that to be an option, odds are the additional fees would end up on us (and yes like you we are paying for the whole wedding too). Hopefully no one will fins out about the other resorts, or think they are smart and try to get a deal at another resort and come just for the wedding, because truthfully that is not a smart choice on their part! Good luck... I feel your pain girl!
  3. Oh great... what a relief! Good luck with all the assembly! Let me know if you need any help/or have questions
  4. The WC advised me not to mail anything to the hotel, as they would not hold it and the parcel services are not very reliable. I would play it safe and divide the good for the OOT bags and favors between family and friend to put into there luggage. You should not have to pay duty at the airport.
  5. Good question... My FI was saying he is going to find a good barber but I think it would be best to bring someone you trust! You know how men are with their hair (the little bit that they do have)
  6. Thanks girl... that's what I thought! He will be so excited!
  7. Does anyone know the age restrictions for the Grand? I know it is adult's only, which is GREAT!! But my younger cousin, who is 18 wants to come. Does adults mean 18 or 21? I tried to look on the iberostar website and it says adult's only resorts are for singles, couples, and families with children 14 and over. Is that right??
  8. Bummer Sandartsupplies are out of stock, I only have two extra so giving them to you will not help much, sorry. But check on the classified section here, there were some brides selling a good amount or even on ebay! Best of luck!!
  9. Everything looks great! I love your ring and boarding pass invites!! Please let us know how the resort is, that was in the running for my honeymoon. What kind of room are you staying in? You will have a fab time... enjoy and congrats
  10. Good Luck! You will be just fine, think positive thoughts and everything will work out! I live in South Florida and during these summer months it says rain every day and it rarely rains or if it does, it is a quick storm that passes through! Hang in there, dont stress, and live it up, you are staying at a slice of heaven!!
  11. absolutely beautiful! I will be saving this page to show my FI, your vows were so touching... you two are perfect for one another! Congrats!!
  12. You two are going to look great in that dress... it is on the top of my list as well!!
  13. Absolutely Gorgeous!! I love it and you make the dress look fab... Congrats
  14. I put on my RSVP "Please kindly respond ASAP, so the bride and groom can plan accordingly." Then on the invite when I provided info about booking I said it is strongly advised to book 10 months in advance. I know some people will wait until they have the money saved up to RSVP, but I did not want to scare anyone off by giving them too early of a date to respond by. I am planning on contacting those I have not heard from by Jan 2012, which is 6 months out, so I can get a general idea of #'s. Hope this helps... I was in the same boat!
  15. Looks very professional... your guest are going to love these!! The snacks made me hungry when I was looking at your thread at work, hahaha!

  18. My invites are all sent out and I could not be more relieved (and excited of course)! First, let me start by thanking all my fellow BDW Brides, who haven given me so much inspiration and encouragement… THANK YOU Ladies!! I would be lost without this fabulous forum, and a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Laura Hamway for being such a great resource and helping me SO much with the MIB idea/template!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Ok so now that my guest are receiving our MIB invites I am thrilled that my hard work has paid off… all those slaving hours were WORTH IT!! I started by assembling all of the boxes, folding them inside out, so the brown was on the outside, and securing them with the hot glue gun. Grrrrr that glue gun and I are NOT friends (I did get a battle wound from these darn invites), but it all worked out! Then I cut ribbon and glued it on the outside of the boxes, to give it a more “luggage look.†The luggage handle is made out of foam and secured with gold paper fasteners. I printed up clear labels and cut them down to size for the tags for the mailing labels/luggage tag. I wrapped each bottle in raffia, securing a starfish charm, and filling them with sand, shells, and our wrapped up invite. We printed our invite on resume paper (after many trials of various different paper, I had a genius idea and it worked). Originally, we attempted to burn the edges of the invite to give them a more aged looks, but we could not come up with a way to avoid the ashes making the paper black. So we decided to scratch that and keep the clean edges, which I am happy with the clean turn out. For additional resort and travel info, I made a wedding passport for all the information that was not on the MIB invite. I used a passport template from Aylee templates (http://www.ayleebits.com/templates.htm). Then bundles the passport and RSVP together with ribbon and put them in the box with the invite. When I was FINALLY finished I was beyond excited to mail them out, but extremely nervous about their journey in the mail (beings the farthest travel was to my Aunt & Uncle in Hong Kong). Everyone at the post office were very curious and all wanted to crack on open to see what was inside the luggage box. Each luggage box cost, $1.88 or $2.05 (depending on the amount of sand) to mail and we sent out 50. It seems like they have all made it, even Hong Kong, so what a relief. ***A little tip for mailing… make sure that your guest’s address and your return address are on the same side of the box (or your chances of having some returned are much higher). The Passport Cover on Shimmer Cardstock (though the picture does not do it justify, I took it on my phone, SORRY!)
