Ladies I have emailed Karem T. Weaver, Romance Specialist- Melia Caribe Tropical a few times to confirm our site visit and I still haven't gotten a response back????? Can someone provide a working email that you are using and actually get a response back from? Thanks!!

WOW!!! I guess we wont be having our 2013 wedding there. I am not in the least bit interested in Arrecife Photography and theres no way any other vendor will incur a $1000 fee to shoot your wedding without adding that to your package!! This is just insane and I am sure they will loose a ton of business over this "new policy". Just outrageous!!!

Stacy where are you guys flying from? I do know that March is spring break so prices may be a bit on the higher side. I to am trying to keep my guests under $1000 from Thurs-Sunday. We are flying from NYC and at this point based on May 2012 airfare and hotel prices for 2013 the Barcelo Bavaro Palace is $780, Barcelo Punta Cana $677, Ocean Blue and Sand $747, and Melia Caribe $904. Just to give you a better idea. I guess I just feel like Barcelo Punta Cana is just too cheap and that worries me in consideration to other resorts if that makes sense. I am meeting with Arianna in 2 weeks so will be able to tell you guys first hand!

I think the confusion is that Barcelo Bavaro Palace (WC: Marlene) does not allow outside photographers and are contracted with Tropical Pictures. Barcelo Punta Cana (WC: Arianna) do allow outside photographers with a $50 pass. Unless of course your package includes it. Kswereda where are you doing your reception and what did you decide for food? Are you allowed choices or is it a fixed menu where everyone eats the same thing? Also, is it plated or buffet? Oh sorry one more thing what did you do for a DJ?

Such a trend setter mbrady, LOL love it! I believe Sunny mentioned the fabulous cocktail hour on the terrace as well, what was the extra fee for it mbrady? Very good thought and observation about the privacy factor on the beach for the ceremony. Hmmmm....got me thinking LOL. We are all goign to be best friends after this DW experience. Destiny can you please share the pricing for the Gran Bahia Principe please? And any pics that you have. When you say the Barcelo private dinner reception is not worth it, what do you mean. The location, set up or food?? Can you be a bit more specific please. Also if you can post the pic your referring to of the reception space that would be very helpful for us to see. Thanks!

Did you pay extra to have your reception at Bar Higuey? Just wondering if there is an extra fee for the different location options?

Guys, are there options for reception locations???? All I see everywhere is "ballroom"???? Where are you having your reception? We are not going all the way to beautiful DR to have our reception in a ballroom!!!

Hilda what is your email address? They (Bavaro Palace Deluxe) do not have pricing out yet for 2013 but I do have their most recent which is 2012 that I can send along w/ the reception menu. I will tell you this and I am sooooo not crazy about. It appears they have prefixed menus that are not customizable =( I am waiting for Marlene to get back to me with clarification on that as well as the reception location. All their literature refers back to a ballroom for the reception??? Ummm....what if I dont want my reception in a ballroom? I will be down there in 3 weeks doing site visits. I need to see 1st hand both Barcelo resorts. Costs for my guests is such a big factor for us. Some of which consist of a family of 4 and the Barcelo's resorts are right in budget. I will report back with a full review!!

Sunny...is that really how it is? No food options, everyone eats the same thing? Is it a buffett where there are mutliple options or is it pretty much a plated dish kinda like chicken all the way around? Ugh that really does suck!!
