Ladies we are having our welcome party at Hibachi restaurant. There isn't a fee however all the WC does I'd make the reservation for your party to ensure your all seated together. If you want a blocked off area with your own private waiters then they charge you. We chose the Hibachi a restaurant because when we went on our site visit there was a Seperste area in the middle of the restaurant that was a bit private. Although still within the public it has Seperste walls and it's own big hibachi table. The problem is that the space will only accosted ate maybe 25. I posted pics a few pages back of the area. All that to say the WC will make the reservation for you anything above and beyond that you will pay for. Thanks for airport transfer info!! $45 for 6 people is actually a great deal!

JG Corona: They are playing during my cocktail hour as opposed to during the ceremony so I dont see why they wouldnt do it for the rehersal dinner as long as its an hour. On another note: We plan on paying the cost to shuttle our guests from the aiport to the resort. I am hoping to have everyone arrive around the same times. Has anyone made any good transportation contacts they could share? Its sooo competitive when you get to the PUJ airport there are a ton of companies. We are spanish so I am sure I can haggle someone down a bit but figured if one of you have already made a contact even better. Maybe they will extend us a discount for more business?

WTunner: I only had one pic of the rooftop area becuase it was out of our budget at an addtional $500. I will say that its an amazing space and if you can swing it then rock with it!! The only thing is that its directly across from the outdoor theatre and the WC said they have shows everyday and one at 7:00pm for children. Although they block it off so that no one can enter your private party you will still hear all the noise from the crowd and the shows.

Disazaja...keep me posted on your experience with Tropical Pictures as I have been emailing them for weeks and no one has ever responded. So we are bringing our photographer with us. Found it to be soooo much cheaper than their packages and way less stressful. Just cant deal with having our special day and the only memories we have in the hands of people that cant even return emails. In any event I was considering them for videography services. As far as the DJ I had Susana include it on my invoice when I made my wire deposit. So hes booked. I suppose there are a few DJ's so as you get closer to your date you will have a better idea of who your DJ will be. Ironically, I did hear a few brides mention that the mic system was extra even having had booked the DJ? As you can imagine I quickly emailed Susana and she said it was included. So maybe just have that clarified via email just in case. As you know its vital to have everything documented.

What were your thoughts on Bar Higuey? Is Susana giving you the option to have more than one food choice? Did you see the bridal salon?

Welcome WTunner!! Your wedding is in a few months...I would def think that Susanna would be getting back to you ASAP to lock something in. There are a ton of beautiful resorts in Punta Cana I think the questions is what is your budget and your guests budget. I found the Hard Rock to be a beautiful resort with great amenities but it would have cost our guests a fortune to attend. I did a few site visits in February and because making our wedding affordable for our family and friends was super important we chose BBPD. Not to mention we were totally sold after having had visited it!! If your have some time go through the forum, it really is a godsend with a wealth of knowledge for all these great brides!! I am purchasing a separate dress for our TTD session and I feel a bit overwhelmed. What are your thoughts on the best style of dress for a TTD? Trying to think what looks best underwater? What material works well wet? Those sort of things.... Ladies thoughts?

Ladies I received a response from Susan in regards to the confusion with the Tangerine Package. As coco previously mentioned the top of the Tangerine Package mentions for up to 35 guests however the private dinner reception indicates for 25 guests. Sunny while I have your attention how did the cocktail hour work? $12 per person for canapes & 1 drink per person how does that work out? What if people want more than one drink each which will prob be the case with my guests do they charger you per drink after the alloted one? It makes me crazy that I added this to my package no one bothered to mention it only includes one drink per person!!! Ugh!

WOW coco good catch on the Tangerine Dinner Package I have just emailed her to get clarification on this. I am going to flip my lid if I have to pay for the extra $10 people to eat when I am paying for a wedding package that is specifically for 35 guests!! Sigh....I am really starting to loose my patience with all of these hidden extra costs!!! Will keep you posted when I hear back from her.

Teena: you are only allowed to upgrade your package. They wont allow you to downgrade it and furthermore they wont make you upgrade if you have additional people to the next package. As Natalie said you would be responsible for the per person cost past the 25 people. Although you find it cheaper to pay the additional cost per person as opposed to upgrading to the next package I will say that really look at what the next package contains. Sometimes its the little costs that add up and you end up ultimately at about the same price as the higher package. If you have read through the pages here you know there are so many hidden costs that its insane! Congrats again on your wedding =)

Fabulous idea about the DR photographer!! I would email both of them and see what they say and if they would be open to the idea. I wonder since they are DR photographers if Marlene would still allow them without the extra fee even though they are staying at the resort? Ladies: I'm curious for those of you that are having your weddings in Punta Cana give or take a week from 5/18 what are you doing for photography? Really struggling with this and the obligation to use resort photographer: Tropical Pictures grrrr. Seriously considering flying someone in. Hoping to find a good photographer from the FL area because is sooo much cheaper to fly to DR from FL then from NY. Just not sure where to start...Thoughts?

Coco: As long as your wedding package includes a private reception your good. It gives you the option of the Banquet room or Bar Higuey. As you know the beach reception is an additional cost. Not sure if you've read through the posts however Bar Higuey is located near the convention so when booking this space they tell you that if there is a big convention going on the day of your wedding they may have to relocate your reception to the Banquet Hall. She does say they will compensate accordingly but who the heck knows what that means LOL. I cant speak on the civil ceremony as we are not getting married by the judge and so they confirmed me for 4:00 already. I am also not at all impressed with Tropical Pictures, primarly because I have been emailing them for weeks, seriously like months now and not one email response from them! Yea I am not putting my special day in your hands if you cant even return a $&*^$ email! Not to mention I cant seem to find a whole lot of brides that have direct experience with them. They website is gorgeous but really of course it is...they are in a very competitive industry and post only the most gorgeous pics. We are from CT and so its about $500 to fly to DR from NY so I am hiring a photographer from FL and flying her in. (About 1/2 to fly from FL to DR that is why I chose FL) Her prices even with travel comes out to less than Tropical Pictures. Let me know if your are interested in her website info. Maybe if we both book her she will reduce her fees that much more. Disazaja: I made my deposit via the wire and after days of emailing Marlene to confirm and no response. I decided to call the bank directly in MIA to confirm receipt of the wire. I jsut wanted to be sure my money wasnt floating around in some off shore acct. Very type A and needed that reassurance. Marlene actually got back to me nearly 3 weeks after the wire to confirm. I would say keep ALL documentation and emails just in case. Have you hard from Tropical Pictures??? Gosh...sorry I wrote so much, you dont tend to realize you've nearly written a book until your done LOL!

Thanks ladies!! From what the casting director said season 8 will begin airing June 15 and I will be on Season 9 expected to air late 2012 early 2013. Which is even better considering my wedding isnt until May 2013.

So I know this is def not the forum for this but I just feel like I know you all so well LOL. Have to tell someone LOL. We went to Kleinfelds on Saturday and not only did they choose my group to film for the show "Say Yes to the Dress" but I said yes and finally found my dress! I was certain I wanted a mermaid/trumput style gown and was pretty sure I def didnt want anything princessy but after I tried this dress all that went out the window =) It absolutely made me feel beautfiul, sexy and a bride! Like a dummy we were all so wrapped up with the camera crew no one took a pick of me with it on and it wont be ready til March 2013 ugh!! But in any event here is my dress....Thanks for listening guys!!
