  1. We went to Kleinfelds on Saturday and not only did they choose my group to film for the show "Say Yes to the Dress" but I said yes and finally found my dress! I was certain I wanted a mermaid/trumput style gown and was pretty certain I def didnt want anything princessy but after I tried this dress all that went out the window =) It absolutely made ne feel beautfiul, sexy and a bride! Like a dummy we were all so wrapped up with the camera crew no one took a pick of me with it on and it wont be ready til March 2013 ugh!! But in any event here is my dress....My Dress 1.JPG

  2. Coco I think Ncordero is right about the packages/food options.

On another note I finally got pictures of centerpieces WITH prices. Since we can potentially spend %&*#^ $500 on centerpieces atleast this will give me an idea for budgeting and weight out my options. Help me decide whether its most cost effective to bring my centerpieces or get them done by the resort. Of course prices are subject to change for 2013 but at the very least its an idea. If your interested email me at [email protected] and I will respond back with the PDF.

  3. Hi Jenny...great date (wink, wink)!! My STD's went out last week and we did magnets. Our wedding website is done and we are starting to get messages on our guestbook which is exciting and makes it all that much more real www.edgardandtamara.com My actual invites will be Messages in the Bottle invites with boxes that resemble suitcases. I have my Kleinfelds appt on Saturday that I am soo excited about!! Have you guys purchased your dresses or do you think we are a lil bit too far out? Also if anyone is doing a TTD session are you using your actual ceremony dress? I am hoping to find a sample sale dress at Davids for the TTD session.

There are so many May 2013 brides...I love it!!

  4. Phew thanks Kel = )

Ms. Bubbles I think we're good girlie! Another bride who just returned just emailed me, here is what she had to say:

Congrats to you! We got there Monday and the weather was beyond gorgeous until Thursday. Thursday it was overcast but still hot so everyone was out by the pools and beach then rained in the evening. Friday it rained most of the day but cleared up a bit mid day. Saturday was overcast. Sunday was gorgeous. Our wedding ended up getting rained out (of course the day it poured all day was our wedding day) and I was super bummed when the planner told me it wasn't going to clear up and we had to move inside. However once I walked in and everything was set up it was beyond expectation. In fact, in hindsight, as much as the idea of having an outdoor pool side reception was awesome, I would have planned to have the reception indoors but kept the ceremony outside if possible. The ballroom made for a more intimate reception, and since we were in a confined space everyone was on the dance floor getting down versus spread out. Also, the few receptions I saw outside were lovely but since the pools stay open there were plenty of people still out there in fact one wedding was right by the pool where a bunch of loud drunk guys were playing polo. Reflecting on it all I'm glad we didn't have polo balls bouncing into our reception. Despite the few rain showers everyone had a blast the entire week. The showers were typically short and provided a nice break from the humidity.

  5. Thanks Natalie. I did come across their FB page but I just feel like I wont really get a feel for what the experience is like and the quality of their work until I speak directly with a bride. They can easily post the best pics from a shoot and front like they are great photographers ya know?! Really feeling uneasy about this photographer situation. Ugh...

On another note, I looked into the cost to ship my centerpieces from NY to DR and um yea not so cheap. So I might be forced to get them through the resort. Does anyone have the centerpiece options WITH the prices?

Natalie please let me know if you find a good contact in DR for centerpieces that would be super helpful.

    Thanks!!

  6. Disa...welcome to the BBPD forum!! There is a ton of info on here I would def spend some time going over the pages you will probably find most of your questions answered right here. The first step would be to email the WC and submit a reservation request form with your date. Take a look at the package options and decide what works best for your party. Once she responds and advises whether your date is available or not you will be required to pay 30% of the package to hold your space. I did a site visit in Feb and can share some pictures as well as the forms and packages that you will need, whats your email address?

On another note, ladies by this point you all know that BBPD uses Tropical Pictures. For those that have their weddings in a few months have you booked them, Johanna, Octbride, Corona? What has your experience been so far? I have been searching high and low for a video of someones wedding that they have done in the past and cant seem to find one. Or even a bride that has directly dealt with them and can share her picture album. Feel so bullied to use them grrrr BangHead.gif

  7. Hi Ladies!!

My Kleinfelds NYC appointment is almost here!! Ahhh I only waited 2 months! LOL Anyway so a group of 7 of us are heading to Kleinfelds NYC next Saturday and I am looking for a cool spot we can grab a bit at afterwards. Def nothing to expensive a nice chill like brunch/lunch spot.

If anyone that has already gone and maybe found a good spot to eat at in close proximity of the store can make a suggestion, that would be sooo helpful!

    Thanks again!

  8. Ladies the resort is charging like $50 per table for each centerpiece and I just cant imagine paying nearly $500 just for centerpieces. IDK seems a bit extreme for me. Anyway so I am actively considering shipping my own centerpieces a week prior. I just dont know what would be the easiest and look fabulous? Thoughts? I suppose I can do the typical funky shaped vase with submerged flowers in the water and candles but kinda wanted something different. Did anyone ship or use their own decor for centerpieces? If so pics please?

  9. Octbride...LMAO!! Totally should already have your email and I do...was kinda of a "duh" moment. Yes the new woman that I have been assigned to is Susana, she has been surprisingly really on point and prompt.

Sunny: Thanks for the clarification on the food! I still cant thank you enough for all your insight!

On another note ladies I just got an email for a Vistaprint groupon!! Its $17 for $70 worth of merchandise. Perfect for tshirts, welcome brochures etc. Anyway so be sure to search location: Fairfield County, CT. Expiration date is August but needs to be purchased today. =)

  10. Ladies I have made some progress! I have the color swatches and the 2012-2013 price list of extras as well as pics of the bouquets that are included with the tangerine package. WC confirmed that the hoopa, chair covers, and bows for both reception and ceremony are included as well as colored table runners. She also gave me the okay to ship a box to the resort. I am super excited about this because I will be using my own centerpieces. I hate those pine cone things but I just cant pay $50 per table for the cuter ones. Anyway PM if anyone is interseted in these things =)

  11. Thanks OctBride ;)   So I am sure now that Sunny's wedding has come and gone she is probably over this site and all of us LOL (j/k) but now that I am exactly a year out I feel like I should or could be doing something or buying something and I just dont know where to start LOL. If I can just get the flow going I will be good. So few questions Sunny or ladies. I am doing the Tangerine Package and I am still not sure what decor is included and what isnâ€t so I am kinda stuck on what to buy.    ·         Is the hoopa with the colored cloth for the beach wedding including? ·         Are the white chair covers and colored bows included that are used for both the ceremony           and reception? ·         The draping in Bar Higuey was included right? ·         What about the colored table runners for reception, included? ·         When I did the site visit Jeanne showed me a sheet of color swatches that we can choose           from, any chance someone has this??
  12. Hi Ladies!! Tomorrow will make me exactly a year away from our wedding in DR!! Ahhhhh!!  Cant believe we are a year away. My Save the dates went out yesterday. Anyway, is anyone worried about the weather in the Caribbean in May, specifically Punta Cana? Of course its a rainey month and the weather is something I cant control but has anyone visited during this month?
