Bjean congrats on finding a local photographer!! I am so glad it worked out, and just as glad to help! Not only is TP prices steep I think even their most expensive package you only get 150 prints (physical or on a CD). In reference to the quality of work I think they have gotten significantly better. They have been posted new pictures on their FB page and are wayyy better than what they showed months ago. Not sure if they got new photographers or what...whatever they did its much better! Not to mention your so limited on the coverage time. In any event I will be using them for our video as well however I will say say that I have only seen one video that TP has done, have you had an oppty to see? There was a bride on here that used them for her wedding but she hasnt gotten back to me in regards to seeing her video. I cant remember her name on here but it was something that referenced "TeamTurner" On another note, ladies we have 2 brides that are at BBPD having their weddings this week! Looking forward to hearing their reviews. Miss Jali: Girl I am having a very similar situation with my soon to be SIL. She is marrying my brother and a few months after we got engaged they got engaged, we announced our destination wedding a few months later she mysteriously now wants to have a destination wedding. Whatever I am so over being erked about it. We barely speak...I wont share anything about my wedding and I rather not know anything about hers. Sucks it has to be like that since she is marring my brother but what can I say..."I am good and keep it moving". My mother keeps trying to make light of the situation and says its the best form of flattery blah blah blah. Have to tell her mom listen here with that said "Can I just have my moment without having to share it"?! Call me selfish if you want...and then ask me if I care. LOL.

Ladies anyone heading down to Punta Cana for a May wedding coming from the NYC area....OMG the airfare is $525 rt =( I am so worried it will continue to go up and def effect our head count. Anyone else waiting and hoping it goes down??!!! Sigh....so worried grrrr

Miss Jali, There are so many way more affordable and talented photographers in the area that I would have opted to use however BBPD has an exclusive agreement with Tropical Pictures. If you use an outside vendor such as HDC or Carribbean Emotions the resort charges you an outside vendor fee of $1000 which is insane and a big reason why I opted to do what I did. I see your from NYC as well so its costing me less than $1200 for him and his assistant (husband and wife photographer team) flying in thurs leaving monday. Covering the welcome party on thursday night the entire wedding day on Saturday and my TTD shoot on Sunday. I will incur the cost to print the shots and they give me all the prints on CD's all edited in Hi-Res without their logo. Not to mention that I love them as a couple and their energy will absolutely vibe with my over the top and loud Puerto Rican family =) All in all I think I came off!

Miss Jalli we actually battered with a photographer out if NYC. We are covering all their expenses for 5 days including airfare, hotel n airport transfers in exchange for covering the entire week and rights to use our photos on their website. We are however planning on using tropical pictures for their videography services that I plan to play during dinner at our AHR. What I did was went through a most if the photographers on wedding wire and emailed the ones I liked directly with the barter proposition. It was actually an overwhelming response!

Past BBPD Brides: Did anyone use lanterns in their reception spaces? I am looking for pics specifically of lanterns in Bar Higuey. Trying to get an idea of how many will be needed and how they are set up in regards to sizes and space. Thanks~!

Congrats Mandi and welcome back as a married woman =) A few questions if I may: What were your food options during your reception and were you pleased with the quality and portions? What did you end up doing for your centerpieces? This is weighting heavily on me as it can potentially add another $400 to my budget at minimum. Any feedback on the food during cocktail hour? Did you guys to a TTD session with your photographer and if so what type of dress did you have? Was it super heavy after being all wet and such? I think you mentioned your colors were aqua and coral. They have 2 aqua options on their color swatch, which did you choose? Cant wait to see pics!!! Thanks, ~T

Speckles: I think you would have to choose either or...either both colors in organza or both colors in satin. MissBubbles: I cant seem to find the pictures you posted of the orange sashes that you ordered from them? I am curious to see the shade that your referring to. Was it the pink that didnt work for you or the orange?

Awesome thread considering I just about hit the purchase button on a $65 frame!! So I noticed most of you guys had pics that you used and then put the sand in. I know the question was asked but I dont recall seeing an answer posted. We would like to use a wedding picture for the frame and of cours would need to swap the pics out once the sand is already in. Sooo....having a hard time visualizing how that would work out?? Ladies? Did anyone who DIY change the picture after the sand was already in it???
