Welcome! I felt exactly how you felt when my FI and I decided to have a DW, it is normal I promise! First thing we did was research a bunch of locations (Mexico, Domincan, Jamaica ect). We were able to eliminate some locations, such as mexico, right away (My family wasnt to fond of going there, and to get legally married it is quite a process). We then decided on jamaica. From there we researched pretty near every resort and narrowed it down to maybe 8 resorts we were considering. From there we went to a travel agent who was able to provide us with more information about the resorts and other things to think about (resort size, distance from airport, amount of things to do for guests, food ect). We then narrowed it down to maybe 4 resorts and once again went back to our travel agent. She was able to provide us with pricing for all the resorts and that helped us make our final decision on resort. From there I contacted the wedding coordinator by email to see what dates were available for the week we chose. We then chose our wedding date and time. After that things all fall into place! Good luck, and don't let it stress you out so much! I felt like once we booked our wedding date and time all the stress lessened!

It's great to hear another bride planning a friday the 13th wedding! Most people think we are crazy for getting married on a friday the 13th!!

Thats the thing I was worried about, no boning in it. I had found a dress I loved and wanted to alter it and it couldn't be done unless I wanted to put boning in it but it would have been noticably and you would be able to see it. I'm glad you called and found out before you ordered the dress! I wonder if you could find a dress maker to make you the same dress but with the boning and sweetheart neckline for a reasonable price?

Are you planning on eliminating the straps completely and going with a strapless sweetheart neckline, or just make the cups more into a sweetheart?

Great advice! I guess the best advice we received was that it is our wedding day and we need to do things we want, not what other people want! And never second guess your decision to have a DW!

Welcome! At first I felt like I had not enough planning to do and like I needed to be doing more. We decided we wanted a simple, budget friendly wedding so we are not having centerpeices, decorations or anything like that that isnt provided at the resort. I also don't want to use up all my suitcase room for those things!! I think for us we felt in the beginning like there was more planning that needed to be done, but i know personally a few friends who have been married in mexico or cuba and they said most things have been done when they get to the resort, so Im really not stressing to much about it!
