  1. I was really confused at first but I figured out how to do it. First thing I did was sign up for their emails, which includes specials. Then I kind of just played around with some things, added some things to my cart (with no intention of purchasing). Then a few days later they started sending me daily emails with specials which included tons of free things. I got all my stuff for free, just had to pay shipping, which can really add up to Canada! And I always chose the 21 days shipping and every time I have probably received my stuff within a week.
  2. I'm still unsure what all to include on my brochure so thanks for sharing, it gave me inspiration on what type of things to include on mine!
  3. I have really been debating this myself. I always pictured myself wearing a veil since I was a little kid. When we decided to have a DW i kind of gave up on the idea of a veil because of the wind ect. But still I couldn't get the idea of wearing one of our my head so I purchased a beautiful veil from a past bride on here for super cheap. I'm going to take it with me and see how the wind is on my wedding day and go from there. If anything I'm only going to be wearing it for the ceremony and taking it off after that.
  4. After I bought my dress I felt the same way. I kept thinking I may have chosen the wrong dress, and kept worrying about it, but when it came in I fell in love with it all over again and I knew it was the perfect dress!
  5. A card box is something I have not even thought about before. We are encouraging our guests not to bring gifts to Jamaica with them, but rather if they insist, giving us our gift when we return back to Canada, so I'm not sure we will use a card box. I might just appoint someone to be in charge of them and keep track if there are some.
  6. I had never even heard about a honeymoon registry before but I think it is a fabulous idea!! I think we may have to do one!
  7. Those are just what I have been looking for to include in our OOT bags. I'm going to wait until the Canada Post mail strike is over and see if I can get some from them!
  8. I could not agree more!! I asked them to be apart of our special day, and that shouldn't mean added costs on to them!
  9. Wow, I would never think to ask someone that, especially if they had never met before!
  10. I agree, the trip is the most expensive part. Some of my secrets, well lets see: -We chose a resort which offers a free wedding! -We aren't doing many extras or bringing many decorations, just what is provided. -Our travel, is our biggest chunk of our budget, but the travel company we are going with offered us a free trip if we had so many people booked (only 16), so we are only paying for one trip! Other then that I dont really have any other secrets haha!
  11. We also are only going to be having one long table. We are going to sit in the middle and going to do name cards for the seats.
  12. This is a really tricky situation. It is always hard to ask for money and most of the time pretty tacky. People will get you gifts no matter what you tell them, its just human nature. What about doing a registry for a few things you have wanted to replace or a few things you dont have, then at least there are some ideas for people.
  13. Our budget started out around 10,000 but now I think we are only going to be spending somewhere around 6000, which is great!!
  14. I was also worried about this. We decided not to mention anything on our invitation but rather we are going to include it in our pre travel brochure. I think most guests would know better but some won't.
  15. I agree, they are all gorgous, but you are going to be in Jamaica, get married in the beach gazebo!! I like that its against the water, therefore, no people behind you! It also looks like a big enough area for all those people!
  16. I also find the same about some of the wedding magazines. I bought a few and realized that half the stuff in there is unrealistic and most of all the weddings featured, are never going to be like my wedding, if they are even real weddings to begin with!
  17. I agree, I'm always telling people who aren't having destination weddings about this site because there is still tons of useful information for them as well!
