My FI and I are getting married in January in Jamaica. We are flying with Transat Air. Our TA told us today that if we want to we can pay ($15 dollars per seat per flight) to select our seats. If we choose not to do this they just assign us whatever seats are left at the airport. My question to you seasoned travellers with travelling experience, is it worth it to pay the money to pick our seats before hand or will we be able to get two seats side by side if we wait until the airport to choose our seats on the day of departure?

I guess it depends more what you are looking for. my parents have been to both and they said they are similar but different. Couples tends to be more younger couples who are more active, like nightlife and what not, where as sandals is more older couples and more quiet. I really dont think you can go wrong with any of them though!

I am getting married at that resort and I know they take US dollars is the prefered currency. I believe minister fees must be payed in cash, other then that things can be payed with a credit card. I don't know what the weather in July is like and i beleive they do an upgrade if possible. According to our resort we either needed to get our passports notarized by a notary public or have certified bith certificate (the long form). I think its a bit different each place so check with the resort you are marrying at.

I think I am going to have to stop there!

Welcome and congrats on your engagement!! For us the hardest part was to pick a location and a resort. We looked at tons of places in Mexico, Dominican, and other carribean islands. Cost was a main issue for us as we didnt want it to cost to much money for our guests yet we still wanted to get married at a decent resort. I would suggest talking with a travel agent and maybe she can help you narrow it down. We also made a list of what was important to us, such as free wedding, size of resort, things to do at a resort, all inclusive vs non all inclusive. We used that to further narrow it down to about 5 resorts. The travel agent provided us with prices of those and we chose our resort. Once we chose our resort things seemed to become much easier!
