  1. Glad to hear that! Do you have any pictures?
  2. Oh my gosh, I shouldn't have looked at that site, I think I just fell in love!! They are so beautiful!!
  3. Thats so exciting! I felt like once we booked our date the weights lifted too!!
  4. They keep telling me that to for our restraunt, but to me I don't really care where we eat, but it still is frustrating!
  5. I was just trying to design ours just the other day on vistaprint and I was lost on what to put on the back, this helps immensly!
  6. My good friend was married in Mexico in January and they had an AHR and they provided their guests with a framed picture of themselves from their wedding in Mexico (then they didn't have to mail them out), with a starfish bottle opener.
  7. Just say or write a note card explaining that in lue of gifts and on their behalf you have made a donation of purchasing goats from world vision.
  8. I think this sounds subtle, yet to the point and guests will understand.
  9. We also qualified for a free trip because we had 16 people book. Our TA said most of the time it gets split between all the guests. At first we were going to do that, but then we got thinking. All the people booked were aware of the price and had payed their deposit. We also talked with my parents and my FIs parents to see if they would be upset if we didn't spread it out and they said it was our wedding and to chose what we wanted to do. We are both University students and paying for the wedding ourselves, so we have chosen to use the free trip for ourselves. I guess its personal preferance, I dont think people would be mad if you got a free trip, its your group booking anyways and as the bride and groom you deserve some perks:)
  10. I really wanted to do luggage tags, but my FI talked me out of it. I seen all the neat designs and wanted to do them. My FI also reminded me that they are free at the airport and most people in our group already either have one, or probably will purchase one before going on our trip. We came to the conclusion that the cost of making them and mailing them out wasn't worth it for us as we also did OOT bags for all our guests.
  11. Picking the month for us was pretty easy. We knew we wanted to get married in either December or January as my parents own an RV business and that is their slowest months, so its easy for them to take vacation. I will graduate University in December and as we didn't know exact dates we decided to chose January. From there we chose the week we did as it was the one week in January that had low season prices (the week before is the tail end of New Years) and the week after is when high season begins. We were originally going to me married on January 10, 2012, but because of flight date changes we had to change our wedding date. The only date left available the week we are going was January 13, 2012 (which is a friday!). So thats why we are getting married that day!
  12. Most weddings I have been to the men are already standing at the front. From there usually its the kids first, then the bridesmaids, with the MOH right before the bride. I think you can really do it however you want to do it though.
  13. We were thinking of doing the same thing. My MOH and her husband sponser two kids through world vision and my FI and I sponser one, and we were looking at doing something like goats or chickens on behalf of our bridal party!
  14. I guess it just makes me feel selfish for using the free trip for ourselves, but Im glad to see you have done it too!! Our TA said most people divide it between their group, but like you, no one couldn't come because of cost.
  15. Im under that impression as well, the packages prices are only for 2012 brides, but the minister fees will be decreased.
  16. It seems things are much different here in Canada compared to the states. Pretty much everything booked in Canada is a package deal with flights, accomodations, and airport transfers included. I would be lost if I had to do it all seperatly!! We booked with Transat as they gave us the best price. We get every 16th person free, and we are being selfish and using it for ourselves as we both are University students and paying for the entire wedding ourselves.
  17. Welcome! We sent out our STDs about 10 months in advance with just basic information, such as where the wedding would be and the date. We chose not to do formal invitations after that as we only invited a small amount of people and we basically knew after a few months who was and who wasn't coming. I think sending something electronically would be just fine.
  18. Air Transat does not do pre determined seating unless you pay, so pretty much if you pay you pick your seats if you don't they assign you whatever is left at the airport. We did go online and it is Transat charging the fee. Our travel agent told us its a good idea to pay to pick then because January to Jamaica is pretty busy, also we were able to go online today and see all the available seats, and over half the seats on the plane are already choosen, which makes me nervous seeing as its only June!! I think we will just pay to be on the safe side to ensure we get to sit together, I would be really upset if we didn't get to!
  19. I love the idea of the red lanterns!!! Do they have special meaning to you or how did you decide on that verse flowers??
