I guess it really depends how formal you want to make it and what you want to do with it. If you plan on having speeches and first dances then your guests will feel like they are at a traditional wedding reception, whereas if you want to just be carefree your guests Im sure would be fine with it!

I think we will just pack our stuff in our suitcases. My FI is usually a really light packer so Im planning on using the extra space in his suitcase. Plus, we only have 16 people coming in total so we won't have as much stuff.

My mom payed for my dress to and she also wanted me to get a little simple white sundress. But after she saw me in bridal dresses and I explained to her that just because I was getting married on a beach in Jamaica didnt mean I didnt want my dream wedding dress. She finally understood. My dress ended up being just around $900, which I didn't think was to bad, compared to what it could have cost.

We had to switch dates too because of our plane schedule and it really does suck. Thank god they had the 4pm time available on the only other day we could get married the week we are going. As to save the dates we sent ours out before we had the date secured but we knew we wanted to get married in the month of January, so for our save the dates we only put the month, rather then specific dates. That way we were able to send them out earlier to give our guests enough time to save.

This makes me so sad! I know you wont be able to have your dream jamaican wedding on the beach with beautiful pictures, but you still will be marrying the man of your dreams and becoming husband and wife, no matter where you get married! Also, your pictures will be just as beautiful because its the bride and groom that make the pictures beautiful, not the setting. I'm glad to hear you still will be going to jamaica for your honeymoon! Maybe you could convince your FI to do a TTD session, or a mini honeymoon session, then you will still get your pictures from the beach! And please, stay on here, we want to hear all about your planning too, even though its not a dw anymore!!

I was going to order my dress online, after I found one in a store I loved just to save some money. But I didnt think it would be worth the stress of wondering if it would even look the same, feel the same, if the beading would look as nice, ect. I thought it was better to pay the money and have a dress I knew I loved and was constructed good then worry constantly until a dress from online came.

I am not from Calgary, nor did I buy my wedding dress from there, but I did go wedding dress shopping with my best friend from Calgary who did buy her wedding dress at a store there. I can't remember the name of the place, but it was a smaller bridal store. It had many dresses that were cheaper, but im not sure many there were manyb elow 400-500. Maybe you could find one at a smaller store, and perhaps maybe one on sale would be cheaper, or a sample gown.

I have looked at lots of TTD dresses and it seems most go with long dresses, but there are some shorter dresses. Its your TTD and you are allowed to use whatever length, color, or style or dress you want!!

We are paying for their dresses, hair, jewelry and makeup, so we are only going for small gifts. I got them passport covers off etsy and flip cameras.

We bought ours on cheaptotes.com We just went with canvas ones, but I am really pleased with the quality of them for the cheap price.

I think engraving a starfish onto it would be really special! I think Im going to get something engraved for my dad!
