  1. Did you find they were pretty easy to deal with? We are looking at using them.
  2. I think we are going to be giving my bridesmaids their jewelry as their gift. The jewelry will be something that they will be able to wear again.
  3. I think the main thing is whats included with it. Sometimes the venue is just the venue and sometimes they provide other things like linens, food, alcohol, centerpieces ect. Also, its good to know cancellation policies (just incase!), and other things in regards to a DJ, caterer, cake ect.
  4. I would suggest going to a travel agent or researching costs online, on sites like expedia. They give you an idea of what kind of cost you would be looking at depending on what location and resort. Good luck with your planning:)
  5. Try searching for the thread for that resort and you should be able to hear form past and future brides of that resort. They will be able to help you with costs ect. As far as travel arrangements its probably best to contact a travel agent for pricing information. Good luck and happy planning:)

    Hi

There are tons of threads on different resorts where you want to get married. Try reading through some of those to get some information to help narrow down a resort. Happy planning:)
  7. For us the hardest part and most stressful has been picking a resort. We had narrowed our list down to about 5 resorts and from there went to our travel agent. She was able to provide us with personal experiences with the resorts, plus pricing. For us the biggest thing was price and that ultimately helped us make our decision. Also, we made a list of what is important to us in regards to the resort, such as size, amenities, wedding packages ect. Good luck with your decision!!
  8. We were looking at these, but weren't sure how people would react to them! Its great ot know you used them, even just for decoration, and they didnt just get thrown away or not used.
  9. This is something I hadn't thought about when shopping for OOT bag things. I think I will try to use some space in my FI suitcase (he is a light packer) to get all our things down there.
  10. Thanks for sharing these! They will be useful when I start putting together my stuff!
  11. We have only chosen our wedding date, time, and wedding package. Our wedding coordinator said most other things are done once at the resort, such as flowers, cake, restauraunt for dinner ect (we are using what is provided at the resort). I guess it really depends on the specific resort you are getting married at.
  12. I am looking for 20 turquoise organza sashes. Not getting married until January but was hoping to find some on here that I could use from another bride!
  13. I had a budget of $1000 dollars when I started dress shopping. I had never been dress shopping before so I had no clue how much dresses would cost. There is only two local bridal stores where I live, and the next closest one is about 2-3 hours away so I wanted to try to get it locally to make things easier. That being said, the first store I went to, all of their dresses were at least $1500 and all the way up to $10 000 (they carried Pronovias, Monique Lhuiller, ect). I thought If I found the dream dress I would probably go over my budget, but I just didn't find any dresses I loved there. I went to the other local store after that. They had much cheaper dresses but were just as good of quality (They carried brands like Alfred Angelo, Jacqueline, Allure ect.) My dress ended up being just under $1000 dollars with everything included.
  14. Thanks girls for all your advice. My FI called up the store and complained enough until they finally agreed to replace the head with the prongs and where the diamond sits as maybe its a flaw with the gold, which is making it weak and therefore causing it to easily bend and loosen. It will take 4 weeks to get my ring back, which really sucks, I hate not having it, but I guess its better to have it fixed and hopefully properly this time! I will let you all know how it turns out when I get my ring back!
  15. I'm sorry this happened to you! Would it be possible to get married either the 23rd or the 24th then that way its not the night before you leave?
  16. When we first started planning our wedding there were some resorts we absolutely loved and would have loved to hold our wedding there, however, we decided against them because they would not allow outside vendors. For us, it was a major thing for our resort to provide outside vendors and that helped us choose our resort. We would not choose a resort that didn't allow outside vendors.
  17. We booked our photographer once we had a date booked. We were not sure of our time when we booked our photographer, but the photographer we booked is for the entire day, so he said to just inform him of our wedding time once we know. We found out our ceremony time about a week after we booked our date. I'm suprised they cant tell you already.
  18. Try emailing the resort and ask if they can provide you with the costs of anything extra.
  19. We sent our STDs out as soon as we picked a location and secured a date. From there we decided not to do invitations as mostly everyone coming has already booked. We were planning on sending out on invitations about 6 months in advance and asking for an RSVP date of three months prior to the wedding. That way it gives some time for those straglers who can't make their decision that quickly ha!
  20. Click on the insert image in the toolbar on top of the box you type in. And if you need more help try searching, there are a few threads that go step by step how to add a picture. I was able to open the one you posted and I love your flowers and color of your bridesmaid dresses!
