I have been looking for a book like this but all the ones are mostly about weddings held locally, not destination weddings. I will defiantly check it out!

Welcome! That was my biggest fear in choosing a destionation as well, I didn't want to have all these people watching, nor being in all my pictures. I have heard and seen some pictures from weddings on the beach in the carribean that have like 50 people staring and watching the wedding ceremony. Thats why we ended up choosing the Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica. It has a gazebo on the ocean, which just has a little path leading to it, therefore no men in speedos and women wearing bikinis in our wedding photos. I also have been at a wedding at the Grand Palladium in the Mayan Riviera and it was pretty private. They did get the occasional sunbather and person watching but not as bad as it could have been. It took me many hours of research to finally narrow down the resort we will get married at. Good luck!

I bought a pair of shoes before I found my wedding dress and when I did find my wedding dress the shoes no longer worked. At first I was a little sad but then I realized it means I get to buy another pair of great shoes and keep the first pair!!

First of all, Welcome!! We booked our Jan 2012 wedding in December of 2010. I would book as soon as possible to ensure you get the date you want. That being said, some resorts don't allow bookings that far in advance but it doesnt hurt to ask. And keep in mind that flight schedules could change as well (happened to us) and that might make you have to change your wedding date, but at least if you have a date secured in advance they easily accomodate the change in date (usually only a day or two). First thing we did once we know what country we wanted to get married in was to research a lot of resorts. We always had questions for certain resorts that I would sent to the wedding planners of the resort. Sometimes just based on their answers, we were able to eliminate them as they couldnt provide us with the wedding we wanted. So if getting married in the rainforest is what yuo want, ask the question, they will either say yes we can or no we cant. That might help you narrow down any resorts. I think the best thing for you to do would be to find the threads on costa rica and research some of the specific resorts. Also, ask each resort what they can provide in terms of colors, music, cake, the ceremony ect. Some are more flexible then others. As to budget, everyone has a different budget. Some peoples budgets are from 4K all the way to 30K. It really all depends on each person.

I purchased two of these from the same seller! She was fantastic to work with and Im in love with them and can't wait until my wedding! Our colors are cobalt blue and turqoise and this is the boutineer that she made for us!

I totally agree with you. I had wanted a 6 prong setting with a round diamond, but ended up with a 4 prong with a round diamond. I still love it because its from my fiance but I find it does make it look squarish, which is definately what I didnt want.

Such a neat site! Thanks for sharing. I really want to do a thumbprint guest book of some kind, but I'm just not to sure if it will work as we are only having 16 guests. I just wonder if It wouldnt be enough thumbprints to fill it out.
