  1. I noticed that during your ceremony you stood on the closer level rather then going into the middle of the gazebo. Did you choose to do that?
  2. I was receieving emails from them every single day and then all of a sudden they just stopped. I went to order something from them and it the price was outrageous! I resigned up for emails hoping they will start sending me them as I need to order more things! Anyone else have this problem?
  3. Like you I am much shorter then my Fi and my dad. I considered wearing heels, but after being in a wedding in Mexico last year on the beach and having to wear heels I decided against it. It was really difficult to walk in heels in the sand and I felt like I was walking through quik sand. I think if you need the height wedges for the beach is better, they you can wear your heels for the reception.
  4. They usually arent completely nude, but you can chose what you want to do and how much to show.
  5. The dreams resorts are amazing!! I think you can't go wrong with any of them. It comes down to personal preferences and what you are looking for. Good luck with your decision!
  6. Welcome! Good luck with your decision! And happy planning!
  7. Welcome! Try finding the threads specific to those resorts to find information from past and future brides that may help you make your decision. For us, deciding on the resort was the hardest part!
  8. Welcome!! This site will be extremely helpful in helping narrow down your search for your dream destination! Happy planning!
  9. I had wanted some as well and I found the travel agent was able to provide brochures, pamplets and books for us. Its worth a shot!
  10. Welcome! Happy planning!

  12. I finally finished my OOT Bag tags and Im happy with the results! Supplies needed: Cardstock-white and colored Glue Stick Paper Cutter Step 1: Create Template I used Hallmark Card Studio (great program!) to make these tags, but they can be done in word or powerpoint as well. Step 2: Print tags on colored card stock (I used blue for the front and green for the back) and cut apart Step 3: Cut a sheet of white cardstock in half; using gluestick, glue tags on to front of cardstock. Once dry, cut apart. Step 4: Glue back side tag on to the cut apart cardstock. Step 5: Punch a hole in tag, thread a ribbon through, and tie around bag. (I haven't done this yet). Here are some pictures: Front Back (We are just going to write in our guests names)
  13. Is quite a unique situation... I would say if you want to get married when you are there then do it!! Also, Its truly up to you if you want to spend the money on invitations to send to people you think wouldnt come. But suprisingly some people may come if they received an invitation. I guess it really depends on if you want to have any more people with you and the cost of the invitations. You could also send out an e invite or a STD which isnt quite as formal and usually doesnt cost as much money. As to where your other guests would stay, if they truly wanted to come they would regardless if they had to drive all the way across the island. Or, they would find accomodations that were closer to where you were going to be. We are only having a small wedding party with each having only one standing up for us. This did cause a few hard feelings for some of my friends, but they quickly got over it. I still included them in the wedding planning and asked for their help with things so they felt like they were included. You could maybe give her a different wedding related task so she feels included in your special day! Good luck with everything, let us know how it turns out!!
  14. We looked into doing the legal part at home and I too was suprised that you can't just go to city hall and get married but rather have to get a marriage license and then find someone who can legally marry you at your own location. Sounded like a lot of work so we are just getting legally married in Jamaica.
  15. Just reading those descriptions of the pictures makes me want to do first look pictures!!!
  16. We are only have 16 guests and we didn't put a ton of stuff in the OOT bags so we are planning on taking the stuff with us and giving it to our guests down in Jamaica. However, we are going to send out a pre travel brochure probably a month in advance for our guests.
  17. Congrats on your recent engagement!! This is definately personal preference. We sent out STDs about a year in advance and from there everyone who was coming already booked so we didn't send out invitations. I guess if you think spending the money on invitations is worth it and more people will book then go for it. For us it was just an extra expense we didn't need as everyone who said they were coming already booked.
  18. If I were you I would go to a travel agent and see if they have any suggestions. Lots of brides get married in July and August so travel agents may have some suggestions of places that aren't quite so hot.
  19. My summer has been insanely busy! Between working full time, and moving and seems like all my friends are getting married this summer, its been so busy! I haven't had much time do to much more planning, although mostly all of our stuff is done, minus some little things. I start my final semester of school in September so I'm going to try to get a few things done before going back to school. Hope everyone elses summer has been great!!
