  9. Welcome!! Picking the resort for us was the hardest part of the planning. We sat down and made a list of what we wanted from a resort, for example size, location from airport, wedding packages available ect. It might be helpful to contact the wedding planners from the resorts to see what dates and times are still available for May and that may help you eliminate some resorts from your list. As to upgrading wedding package I think you just need to sit down and look at what you would get if you paid more. For us it wasn't worth upgrading to a pricer wedding package because the stuff it included was stuff that was not important to us or stuff we wouldn't use. Also, it really depends on how many people you will be having with you, sometimes its more cost effective to upgrade if you have more people as often they include more people in the head count. Good luck with your planning:)
  10. Welcome! Happy planning:)

  12. I think for us choosing the resort was definately the hardest part of the entire planning process. We didn't know what location we even wanted so I did tons of research on resorts all over the carribean. For us we decided on Jamaica as its a place we always wanted to go and it seemed to be easier to get legally married there then Mexico. We made a list of what we wanted from our resort for example, size of resort, proximety to airport, amenities available at resort, wedding packages available, and costs. We also used a travel agent to help us further narrow down our list and eventually helped us pick our resort. Good luck!
  13. Welcome! Jamaica is a beautiful place. We too looked into the sandals propertys for our wedding and they are beautiful. We just needed to find some where that was a little more within our budget. We do plan on spending a week at our resort we are getting married at and then another week at sandals for our honeymoon. What I found helpful was to make a list of what we wanted from a resort. For example, size, amenities, price, location from airport, wedding packages, cost ect. From there we were able to eliminate some resorts. We did use a travel agent to help us pick our resort as well. As to using a travel agent I was so happy we did. I didn't want to have to stress about people booking and making sure that was all arranged. I left that up to our travel agent so I could really focus on planning the wedding. I guess its personal choice though. Happy planning:)
