  1. Congrats! Your photos are magnificant!!
  2. We gave OOT bags to our guests. We gave one per couple, or one per single. We didn't give them a favor at the reception, just the bags the day after we arrived at the resort. Our bags included: Survival Kit- first aid kit, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, nail file, kleenex package, medication packages, lip balm, gum Key Card Holders Puzzle Books - 2 per bag Glow Sticks Starfish Bottle Opener Deck of Cards Notepads Pens Welcome Letter Out of everything we included people used the first aid kit and key card holders the most. We used the glow sticks on the night of our wedding. People also liked the bottle opener and the cards were used a few times. We had wanted to included mugs and towels, I'm glad we didn't include towels as you can get clean pool/beach towels once a day and if we would have brough out own it would have taken up alot of luggage space. We didn't include mugs because of our budget, however, its something that I think most people would have used if we would have included them. Most people did bring their own though. Hope that helps!
  3. I know the people who own this business and they are fantastic. It is located in my hometown and I have had the opportunity to go into their warehouse, and OMG its so huge and full of wedding delight!! I didn't want to leave! lol
  4. That could be true. We had the free package and therefore were told right from the start we couldn't make any changes to what was included or swap anything for sometime else.
  5. We didn't have our wedding dinner there, but we did go to this buffet more often then the larger one. We found the Palmyra to be fairly quiet with a nice atmosphere. I think it would be a great place to have your wedding dinner!
  6. We didn't have to pay anything for our photographer to come onto the resort grounds.
  7. We asked about a replacement for the resort photographer because we didn't need them and were told nothing could be substituted. Also, at our meeting with the wedding coordinator, there was a person from the photo studio who basically said they would be there whether we wanted them there or not because it was one way to promote what they do on the resort, which I understand. I guess all you can do is ask and see if they will substitute something for the photographer from the resort.
  8. Check out this thread if you haven't already. There is way more information and tons of recent reviews of the resort, including mine. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/51518/any-gran-bahia-principe-runaway-bay-brides-out-there/3210#post_1723608
  9. We didn't really plan anything much in advance, just the date and time of the ceremony and also requested the restaurant we wanted for our wedding dinner. Other then that mostly everything was done down there. That being said, if you plan on going with outside vendors (flowers, photographer, makeup, ect) you will need to do that before you get there.
  10. We haven't received them yet!! I'm anxiously awaiting them though! I did message him the other day and he said he has been really busy with weddings so I should receive the link to the online gallery soon! I will definetly post when I do though!
  11. I know! It seems like just yesterday I got engaged and started planning and joined all you wonderful ladies in the January 2012 thread! Its kind of sad thats its all come and gone and over so quick!
  12. Welcome! For us cost was a huge factor in deciding on a location and resort. We worked closely with a travel agent who helped us narrow down a location. I suggest using a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings.
  13. Welcome!! I found the beginning of the planning the most stressful part. For us it made it easier by working with a travel agent to help us narrow down a location and a resort, but in terms of the actually wedding we communicated ourselves with the wedding planners. We also found it helpful to sit down and make a list of what was important to us and took that to the travel agent who helped us narrow down our search for the perfect location.
  14. We were married this month in Jamaica and I can say it was the best decision we made. I would advise you to contact a travel agent and they will be able to help you narrow down your search based on your price range!
  15. I agree with Carly, choosing the resort was definetly by far the most difficult and stressful part of the entire planning. Once we decided on a resort it seemes like most of the stress went away. Good luck with your decision!
  16. We looked into doing villas instead of a resort, but in the end it saved us a ton of headaches with dealing with the villas and people and we are glad we chose a resort. Good luck to you and can't wait to hear where you choose!
  17. Welcome!! Good luck with your decision on choosing the perfect location!
  18. Congrats on picking a date and location. Happy wedding planning!
  19. Love this thread! Thanks for sharing all your ideas! Your wedding looked amazing, and you looked stunning!
