  1. I'm glad to know I'm still not the only one waiting for pics. All my friends and family have been hounding me 'where are they' and saying 'are you sure you didn't get scammed'. Hopefully soon we will get ours! I would love to see yours!
  2. We still don't have our professional pics. Hopefully soon!
  3. Oh my gosh!! $800?? That is insane! The most I have ever seen it at other resorts is like $200. We didn't pay anything for a vendor fee for our photographer from Jamaica. When we had our meeting with the wedding coordinators, there was alady from the resort photo shop and she was trying to push us to use them rather then the one we already hired. Maybe this is there way to deter brides from bringing in outside photographers, but I really hope they arent going to charge you that much! If I was you I would be calling them to confirm, and then calling the manager of the resort.
  4. Is this open to Canadian residents? Or only USA residents like the other contests?
  5. We were told we had to wait until 2 weeks prior to book as well. However, we weren't told that we needed to have two seperate groups. Did you ask for a specific restraunt, because if so maybe thats why (some are much smaller then others). And also maybe because its high season and the resort is at full capacity, I'm not sure.
  6. The guys stuff didn't need to have anything done to it. We just hung it up right when we got there and it was fine. I'm pretty sure there was an iron in our room. I remember seeing an ironing board haha
  7. They do not have a steamer. If you want to use one you have to go through a different company. I didn't bother bringing one as I just used the steam from the shower one day and hot hot water.
  8. I'm wondering if that is for the minister fees. We payed $200 for them and maybe they are increasing the cost. I would just ask to get clarification if thats what it is or if its an additional $250 on top of that.
  9. Welcome! Happy wedding planning!
  10. I haven't been to Costa Rica so I'm not help in terms of places for your wedding. However, good luck with your wedding planning!
  11. Welcome! I was so confused when I started planning our destination wedding. We choose Jamaica and couldn't be happier with out decision!! Good luck finding your dream destination and resort!
  12. I think budget definetly has to come first. All of our decisions were based on our budget. Thats how we finally decided on a resort and location, and all the other things. Set your budget and stick to it as best as possible.
  13. Welcome! Congrats on your engagement. I know from Canada its much more expensive to go to the Mayan Riviera and the carribean side, then going to the pacific side. However, I think its best for you to contact a travel agent and find out about pricing. They should be able to answer your question based on where your departure airport is. But I would think the pacific side would be cheaper for you as your flying from that side of the country.
  14. I did the iron on transfers for our bags. Our bags were light tan and I used the transfer for light fabrics. I used the bigger sheet and just put two images on one and cut in half. Here is a thread I posted about my experience. Hope it helps. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/76494/iron-on-transfer-oot-bags/20#post_1724830
  15. We gave one bag to couples, and also one bag to singles (such as my brother, my husbands grandma). However, for the couple bags we did include 2 of some things so there would be one for each person. We spent about $12 per bag. We didn't give favors on top of this, we considered these to be our favors.
