  1. Welcome! Congrats on deciding on a resort. As to the availability of those color of roses, I would contact the resort you are getting married at to see if its possible at that time of the year to get those flowers. Good luck!
  2. Welcome! Having recently gotten married in Jamaica, I can tell you great choice! As to the details I would say your next action is to decide on a resort (if you are thinking all inclusive) or a venue for your wedding and reception. Once you decided on a resort/venue contact a wedding planner from there and book a date. After that they will help you and guide you through the planning! Good luck!
  3. Welcome! As to Turks & Caicos, I can't help you there as I was married in Jamaica. However, when it comes to deciding against being just the two of you or your friends and family, thats tough. You really need to do what your heart is telling you. I felt really strongly that I wanted my family there as they mean to much to me, but looking back it would have been really nice to just be the two of us. That being said, I dont regret having my family and friends there at all. I guess there are pros and cons to either way you do it. Just ask yourself if you do it just the two of you will you have any regrets about not having family and friends there. Good luck with your decision!
  4. There are many great free websites to create a wedding website. Try doing a search on this forum. Good luck!
  5. Congrats on your engagement. Now you need to decide on a location and a resort/venue for your wedding. For us it came down to budget and what we could afford as well as when we felt comfortable asking our guests to pay to join us at our wedding. Do a lot of research and consult a travel agent for information. Make a list of what you want out of a venue, ex: all inclusive vs not, location of resort compared to airport, wedding ceremony and reception locations, cost of wedding packages, amenities at resorts such as adults only vs kid friendly. Good luck!
  6. Not sure where you are from but if you are from canada BMO offers air miles credit cards. You can also get them through american express.
  7. For us we didn't do first dance or daughter father dance by choice. We had speeches, though informal, at dinner between courses. It seemed to take awhile from one course to the next so it gave us lots of time to get them in. We cut the cake and ate it after our dinner. Hope that helps!
  8. Congrats on choosing a resort. For us as well it was the hardest part of the planning! I know there are negative reviews for every resort, but don't let that discourage you!
  9. I received the link for our pro pics and we couldn't be happier with them! Here is the link: http://www.merrickcousley.com/clients/2011_0113_jaymaswedd/
  10. I'm not sure how it works in the US, but I know in Canada if you are married out of the country you don't have to do anything with your marriage certificate as Canada doesnt register the marriage as it didn't happen in Canada. If that makes any sense. You will be able to use your Jamaican marriage certificate to change your name.
  11. I know this thread hasn't been active for awhile, but now that I'm married we are looking for a place to do our wedding announcement cards. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  12. Welcome. Try searching for the resort specific thread. You will be able to find past and present brides who will be able to answer all your questions. Good luck with your wedding planning!
  13. Welcome, happy wedding planning:)
  14. Welcome! I know most carribean destinations don't do weddings on Sundays as its the day off for the wedding coordinator, however, each resort probably does things differently, so I would say contact any resort you are potentially interested in getting married there and ask them. That way you have an idea of what resorts will and wont do Sunday weddings.
  15. Welcome! Happy wedding planning!
  16. Welcome. Try doing a seach for that resort and you should be able to find tons of information pertinent to that resort and what other brides getting married there are doing or did in the past. Happy wedding planning!
  17. Welcome! I have never been to either property, but have been to some dreams in the past and they were both absolutely amazing!! Good luck with your decision.
  18. Thank you! Hope your wedding is everything you dreamed of. And staying under budget was the best thing we could have ever done! Good luck with your planning!
  19. What a great steal. We purchased my husbands wedding band off overstock for $30 as he said he never would wear a band. But now that we are married he wants to wear it more, but for $30 its pretty crappy quality with rough edges ect, so we are looking for a new one that is still relatively cheap! Thanks so much!
  20. Great planning thread. Everything looks great! Your photos are stunning. Congrats Mrs.
