It looks like you are where you should be for planning. The only ones that I would consider doing asap is the bridesmaid dresses as they can take awhile to come in if you are ordering from a bridal shop and also the invitations.

show us your rings!
JayKay replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I had thought about getting them soldered together but I decided against it for a few reasons. I like the flexibility of wearing just my band or it will my ering. I am a nurse so I dont wear my ering to work ever so its nice to be able to at least wear something to 'feel married' if that makes any sense. Also, my ering and wedding band are from two different stores and I checked with both stores and the general consensus was that soldering them together may void any warranty on the one ring if it is sent away with the other, if that makes any sense. My channel cut band is always turning, I thought it would bother me, but it really doesnt. I just keep turning it back! I guess its just personal preference. I would say wear them for a bit when you are married and see how it feels to have them not soldered together. -
I'm only passing my starfish around for 1 year and I was married in January. I'm not sure if there are any 2013 starfish, but if not maybe you could purchase one to pass around. I think it will be a great keepsake!

Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?
JayKay replied to kerrij's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I imagine the only way you would be able to do this is if you were having a private reception by paying the money to rent out a restraurant. Even then, Im not sure if they offer this option at the resort. -

Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

We had face clothes in our rooms, two of them. We were in the royal golden so I'm not sure if thats why we had them or if anyone has them. I did bring my own though because I had heard some people say there were some but others say there wasn't, so I think it would be a great thing to include in the OOT bags. -

I was married at the Gran Bahia in Jamaica in January. As to the person in the wheelchair, the resort is not really wheelchair friendly at all. There are tons of stairs and steps everywhere. It could be done though if need be as there are a few elevators throughout the property. As to the milk allergy, my mom also has a very severe milk allergy and she never went hungry. That was one of her main fears is that she wouldnt be able to find enough to eat, but she said there was always plenty to eat. They also made her special food for the wedding dinner. They were very accomodating!

When we got to the resort and had our meeting with the wedding planners they asked how we would like our tables set up. To us it didn't really matter because we were a small group. However, if you are a larger group and want specific seating, I would make a chart and give it to them. As to how many people each tables holds, I'm not exactly sure. -

The resort recently changed their photo shop people. Before it used to be Digipix and now its Ariffice Studio (or something like that). The pictures they took actually weren't too bad. Better then the last company that used to be there when we started planning our wedding. That being said they only took photos of our ceremony so I'm not sure how the rest of the photos would look. I would still hire someone outside the resort or bring your own photographer in my opinion though. -
I didn't want a bridal party, however, my husband was adament that he wanted his best friend to be up there with him. So needless to say we did end up with one attendant each. It is your wedding and you can do anything you wish. Honestly, I wish I had 10 minutes before the ceremony to just sit by myself and reflect upon everything. The day goes so quick and there was never any time where I could just sit and relax until after the wedding was over.

Wedding doubts?? please help!!
JayKay replied to sunflower100's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I couldn't agree more. If there are any doubts at all about the wedding you need to post pone it. You would hate to put more time, money and effort into planning your wedding just to have it postponed later on. you really need to sit down and have a chat with your OH and really seriously consider post poning it until you can work through it. Good luck with everything! -
I believe it is resort specific. Some people that were getting married at the same resort as us were told short form was okay, we were told we needed the long form with our fathers names on it. I didn't have one either, so we ordered ours online. We thought it was better to have them then to get all the way there and find out we couldn't be legally married.

Welcome! We were recently married at this resort and didn't have to pay $800 or any fee at all to have our photographer come to the resort for our wedding. I think its absolutely rediculous that they can go from charging nothing to $800. I do understand why you have to pay it, because the have a photographer at the resort they want you to hire instread, however, $800 is really outrageous. If your photographer is a guest staying at the resort then I dont understand how you have to pay any amount at all. Good luck with that! -
