  1. I love love that first dress! I think it is a great wedding dress. In my opinion the second dress is way to sparkly and is something that could be worn to a party or prom.
  2. I just got my flowers through the resort so I'm not to sure where they actually come from. I had a bouquet, one for my bridesmaid, and boutineers for the boys, that was it. I know some people do corsages for family members ect as well. I didnt do flowers for the gazebo as I thought it looked great without flowers and I'm not really a flower person. As for the tulle on the gazebo they do have some colors although if you are looking for a very specific color I would probably bring your own. They had the turqoise color that matched perfectly with my chair ties that I had brought myself. Congrats on buying your dress!! I would love to see a picture of it!
  3. The only bars children aren't allowed in is the Sports bar and Kareokee Bar in the publo principe (the shopping centre). All the other bars, such as the lobby bar and pool bars and just tables and chairs outside so anyone, even kids, can go there. After our dinner we all went to the lobby bar for some drinks and then over to the sports bar and disco after that. The beach isn't lit at all at night time.
  4. Wow, sounds like they have made a few major changes, not sure if they are for the better. One of the reasons we chose this resort was because it didn't have vendor fees for photographers and they were super accomodating with everything. Im really glad we got married when we did, as we were going to wait another year. I'm sad to see you wont be having your destination wedding, but you do deserve an amazing honeymoon because of it!! Good luck with all your wedding planning for your November wedding!!
  5. Glad you got it all worked out!!
  6. I used a TA and was so happy I chose to do so. I was extremely busy (trying to finish my degree in University, moving, working full time) while trying to plan a wedding and therefore, it was so helpful to have a TA. She was able to communicate with all our guests about the travel so that I didnt have to worry about contacting them to make sure they booked, and paid deposits, and paid the remaining amounts ect. I just found it was easier to only have to deal with the resort wedding planner, rather then that and the travel side of things.
  7. Exotic and affordable should exist. If I were you I would contact a travel agent, one who specializes in destination weddings/renewals as they will be able to offer you great advice on potential locations that satisfy both your wants.
  8. Welcome! Did you ask the unavailable people if by chance they could recommend someone to you. Usually they network and know other photographers/hairstylists/makeup artists that are reputable they they would recommend to you.
  9. Welcome! Good luck on deciding on a location!
  10. Welcome!! Maui is such a beautiful place!!
  11. Welcome!! Good luck with the planning. For us choosing the location and resort was the hardest part to do of the entire planning process.
  12. We didn't really have a theme as we used a bit of everything listed!
  13. I totally agree, I think it definetly is guy specific. We bought my FI best man a nice watch that he really loved. That being said not eveyone likes watches.
  14. Meclazine no longer available as it is expired.
  15. If you look two post up there is the link to another thread, which is way more populous then this with many past and future brides who will be able to better answer your questions. There was a past bride who was married on the beach and there are some photos of her ceremony on the other thread that you can look at. We had our reception at the Grill and we loved the food. I think the reception at the Piscis would be great, but I beleive you have to have a minimum of so many people (not sure what that number is) in order to have your reception there. We went with the free flowers included in the wedding package (boutineer for groom, my bouquet) and we purchased my MOH bouquet and an additional boutineer. I didnt really care about flowers so we went with the free option. I know most of the other brides choose to upgrade their flowers.
  16. I can't answer the flower question as I went with the free bouquet provided from the resort. The selection for free ones was fairly limited so if you really care about your flowers then I would say you would want to choose something different from the florist. As to photographers from the resort, their pictures were okay, not great and there customer service skills and personal skills were absolutely horrible. We picked the free 5 pictures in the wedding package. I asked them about how much it would cost to have the remaining photos on a disc and it was going to be $950 to have 95 photos on a disc ($10 per picture!!) Also, we only had them for the ceremony so I dont know how well their photos of anything else would be. We went with Merrick Cousley and couldn't be happier with our decision. We booked him in early 2011 and at that time we payed about $1500 for all day coverge and all our pictures on a disc. I'm not sure about his current pricing, it would be best to email him for current pricing. I highly recommend him.
  17. Your photos are amazing!!! The location of your wedding is stunning!!
