  1. They are both great but I think I like the second one a bit more. The first one has that big shadow from the palm tree which takes away from the writing just a bit, whereas the bottom one the writing and colors pop. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these.
  2. We payed $3600 for both our 1 week all inclusive trips plus travel insurance. We did however get $1900 back from Transat as they had a promotion where if you booked 15 people the 16th gets a free trip so we were given that money back. So in the end our travel only cost us $1700 for both of us.
  3. We didn't have any activities that we paid for. Our rehersal dinner was free, welcome cocktails were free. We went on a group excursion with who ever wanted to go, but they paid for themselves.
  4. Wedding Dress- My parents paid for this (was $900, plus $90 for alterations) Flip Flops- $3 Jewelry- $62 Hair Flower- $28 Grooms Outfit- $107 Bridal Party outfits- $250 =$450
  5. This is what we spent: Ceremony-free Legal Costs- $200 for minister Hair/Makeup- $120 Dinner- $40 (for two extra people, 16 were included free in the package) Flowers $43 Sand Ceremony/Chair Ties- $53 Photographer $1400 Total=$1856 /18 people = $103
  6. I was in a similar situation with invites. My dads side of the family is similar. He hasnt spoken to his one sibling, my uncle, for many many years. I wasn't sure what the proper thing would be to do. My dad was okay if we didnt invite him. That being said I didnt want to cause any unnecessary family drama by not sending them an invitation. They did get one, however, I knew they would never come in a million years so I was okay with sending them one. Do you think these people will actually show up to your wedding? If you don't think so then send them an invite anyways, at least they will feel included. Its a tough spot to be in, but you need to do what you want for your wedding and that means inviting who ever you want to!!
  7. maybe its just my computer, but when I went to watch it it said error
  8. I would be interested to see the results if you broke down the categories into even smaller ranges. Right now they are $10 000 which is a big difference is cost.
  9. We sent out about 30 invitations and we had a total of 18 people at our wedding.
  10. We brought our rings on our carry on. Once we got to the resort we put them in the safe. I always felt that the things in there (our passport, extra money ect) was always safe. In order to get into it you needed the room card and a pin number, which was one we selected ourselves and no one else knew. I would not trust anyone else bringing them, because like you said, what if they forgot them or lost them.
  11. Wow, I didn't know you could do that!! Thats amazing that it will do that! Thats such a stunning dress! I love it
  12. What about having them made?? It might be a little more costly but at least they would be the right color and the right fit.
  13. I think it really depends on what your dress looks like and how you plan on doing your hair.
  14. We had a fairly small wedding (16 people in total) and we were so glad we booked a professional photographer. He was able to document the day from start to finish with me getting ready, the wedding ceremony, pictures of my husband and I. We didn't really get a lot of photos with our guests as we really just were more concerned about photos from the ceremony and then photos after of my husband and I. I think you definetly want to have a photographer. As to how many photos, I would contact the photographer and ask. They probably do many weddings with little to no guests and have a good idea of what would fit with the amount of guests you are having.
  15. Our RSVP date was about 3 months before we left. I think most people do about 2-4 months just to give themselves enough time to prepare the OOT bags ect. We did have some people who didn't RSVP who did tell us about a week before we were leaving that they were coming. So do plan for a few last minute straglers.
  16. I wish I wasn't already married! What a great contest for future brides!
  17. I wouldn't think they would need a working visa unless they will be doing photographs from a resident of Jamaica. If they are only coming to do your pictures then Im pretty sure you dont need one as they will be accepting payment from you only and not technically making an income from Jamaican people.
  18. Wow, I really shouldn't try to type when I just got home from a busy 12 hour shift at work! Its supposed to say: They do have dinner at the snack bar. It is right near the ocean...
  19. They do have dinner bars at the snack bar. It right near the ocean but isnt on the beach, if that clarifys that. The beach is man made and pretty rocky. If you are hoping for fine white sand its not like that at all. More like a hard sand if that makes any sense. The gazebo is pretty private. That being said there were people who were sitting in their beach chairs along the walk way to the gazebo, but they were far enough away that it didnt bother me. There were some people standing by the walls by the pool watching but once again they are really far away. Its more private then most places I have seen.
  20. I know for our wedding we booked as soon as we possibly could. We didn't want to risk the resort being full or no flights available. That being said I was just anxious to book it as it was for the wedding. We booked in April 2011 for our January 2012 wedding and at that time the pricing had just come out. We booked right away to make sure we could have confirmation so we could go ahead with the wedding planning. Looking back I wish we would have waited. The prices dropped substantially the beginning of June so I contacted our TA who was able to negotiate with Transat to get us the lower price. That being said the prices dropped in August as well, but we were not able to take advantage of that even better price. Our Travel Agent said she normally would recommend waiting until about 6 months before to book, but she said with a wedding, especially a large group, its often good to book as soon as possible to make sure there is enough room/space/flights ect. I guess its just personal preference.
  21. Welcome!! I was married at this resort in January. I can tell you the beach is not spectacular. There is an area just to the right of the gazebo where brides have gotten married before. And as to a dinner on the beach, they won't do it. I enquired about this when I was decideing where to have my dinner.
