    Welcome to the forum. We knew we wanted to get married in Jamaica so we wrote down a list of all possible resorts and eliminated them one by one, either due to not being all inclusive, to expensive, not what we were looking for. We then had a list of our top 5 and did some research, including wedding packages available and amenities at resorts. We took a list of our top 5 to our travel agent who gave us some great advice on the resorts which ultimately allowed us to make our final decision. Good luck:)

    Congrats, welcome to this forum. I found at first things were completely overwhelming until we decided on a budget and a location that fit our budget. We aren't doing any extras and decided to chose a resort that offered a free wedding package with everything we wanted for our special day included. I hope that you will find some useful information on here about your destination! Good luck, things will get easier!

    tris-what a great idea, however, I really didn't want to see him until I walked down that aisle:) I think we are going to try to move our ceremony up an hour, then that way we have lots of time for pictures. I would rather have to much time then not enough!

    Hey ladies, I need some advice. We have booked our wedding for Jan. 10, 2012 at 4pm. We were looking online the other day and it shows that the sun will set at around 545pm. I'm nervous that there will not be enough time for many pictures. What do you think? Will it be enough time or should be move our ceremony time back to around 3pm?? Thanks!

    The first thing we did was sit down and make a budget. We knew we wanted a DW and one of the reasons being the cost-much cheaper then having it locally. We are simple people and don't care about alot of things included with weddings. We chose to have a smaller wedding to keep cost down. As well, we aren't doing OOTs, paper invitations, reception and dance and other things to keep cost down. We also chose a resort with a free wedding. Therefore, most of our cost, probably a little more then half our budget will be for our travel expenses.
