We are doing the legal ceremony in Jamaica. We had originally wanted to get married in Mexico, and because of the process you have to go through there, we were going to get married here the day before we left. However, we now have decided on Jamaica and its really easy to legally get married there, as well, the judge speaks english. I think it just depends what feels right for them, as well as costs. Sometimes costs for legal weddings can be outrageous, thats partly why we chose Jamaica. Hope that helps!

I just got an email back from the assistance planner. Here are the questions I asked with answer. Hope this will help someone. Hi there, 1. We have decided to use the free package which includes 5 pictures from the resort photographer. We are using a different photographer and therefore, dont need the resort photographer. Can we substitute something else for that such as chair covers or chair bows? Please note that we cannot offer a substitution should you not wish to have the photos that comes with the package. 2. The free package does not include transportation to the ceremony site. How much would it cost if we wanted transportation to the ceremony site? Even though it is not stated in the package we do offer transportation for the bride and bridesmaids to the ceremony location. 3. We want to do a sand ceremony. Are we allowed to use sand from the beach or is this not allowed?This is permitted 4. Do you need the long form of birth certificate or just the wallet sized one? You may use the wallet sized one. 5. We have some people who have severe food allergies, what do we do about this and do we have to pay for a separate dinner for them? Please advise us of the food allergies so that special arrangements can be made. This would be at no additional cost. 6. Do we receive our marriage certificate right after the ceremony or is it mailed to us? This is mailed within 2 months of the wedding date.

I can't help you with that specific resort. However, what we did was make a list of what was extremely important to us when choosing a resort. We then used that list and found a resort that met most of them. We knew it wasn't going to be realistic to find a resort to meet all our expectations. Good luck!

I'm not sure what other options you would have. We are doing ours right after our ceremony.

We aren't going to rent the gazebo. Its a great idea and would be tons of fun, however, we are only going to have about 15 people and therefore, doesnt seem worth it to us. As well, we have chosen a Tuesday to get married and there is a beach party that night!! I think you have to decided if its worth spending that much money. For us it wasn't.

What are you taking in school?

We are planning on having a sand ceremony and are unsure of when would be the most appropriate time to include it in our ceremony? Any ideas or suggestions?

I wish my FI was like this!!! Everything I mention he responds with something like this, are you sure we need that, I dont think we need to spend money on that, We should save our money and not get that haha.!

We are also using Merrick Cousley. We love his pictures and his prices are much much much cheaper then others. Plus I like that you hire him for the day, not just for a certain number of hours! Hi girls! I have a few questions that I thought maybe someone on here could answer. -Does anyone have any information about what color of chair ties they have at the resort? I emailed Beverly and she sent me a blank document, and could re email her, but then it would take another month to get an answer! -We want to do a sand ceremony. Has anyone else done this? And if so, have you been able to use sand from the beach? -How far in advance should you make your appointment with the spa for hair and makeup? Also, if anyone has used them how were they? -We are using the free package. Some of the other packages say that they include "accompaniment to wedding location-gazebo". Does anyone know if with the free package you have to get yourself there? Any answer would be much appreciated!
