  1. Show us your wedding dress!
  2. Congrats on your wedding!! Can't wait to hear all about it!
  3. Hi there. I'm not getting married at this resort, as I was married in Jamaica in January. We are considering this resort for our honeymoon later this year and was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any major differences between the two and which would be better to stay at?
  4. Lisa, take a deep breath and relax!! Everything will turn out great. If you are looking for a beach reception, this is not the resort for you. They offer reception in only two restaurants, or you have the option of paying $2500 to rent out one for yourselves (however, I believe you need to have a certain number of people to do this). Have you checked out this thread? http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/51518/any-gran-bahia-principe-runaway-bay-brides-out-there/3640#post_1777016 There is tons of info on the resort and photos that will help you with your planning.
  5. I would make a side by side comparison of the resort. Such as price, location, size, amenities, distance from airport, wedding packages. That way you are able to look at them side by side to find your perfect resort!
  6. Your photos are stunning and you guys look so happy together! Congrats!
  7. When looking at resorts for my destination wedding in Jamaica we considered the Beaches resorts. We too found that there werent many reviews from weddings and that everything suggested the resort was dated and old. We did consider the Beaches in Turks too, however, the price different was astounding (a different of like $1200 per person). We knew if we wanted our wedding there we would have to be okay with not many people coming. Instead we found a different resort in Jamaica that fit within the budget and allowed more guests to be with us on our special day.
  8. Welcome! Do a search for that resort and you should find an active thread that had tons of past and future brides at the resort who will be able to help you with all your planning!
  9. Welcome! I would suggest using a travel agent to help you narrow down your search. Also, make a list of what you are looking for in a resort, such as size, amenities, wedding packages, all inclusive vs non all inclusive, cost per guests ect. That will help you narrow down your search.
  10. I think the beaches condition all really depend on the time of year you go and the upkeep taken by the resort. Secrets Maroma has one of the best beaches in the Mayan.
  11. There are tons of resorts in the Dominican that should fit in your price rance. I would suggest using a travel agent so you can get quotes on a few different resorts so you know what will be affordable for your family to come.
  12. A coworker of mine just returned from there and she had nothing but rave reviews! She was there for a desitnation wedding and she said it was excellent. I seen some of her photos from the resort and it does look like a great place for a wedding!
  13. Congrats!! It looks like such an amazing destination!!
  14. I hope everything works out for you! Its always so stressful waiting for the dress to arrive. I would call her and explain to her that If you dont have the dress in a week you need a refund as you are going to have to purchase a dress some where else to ensure you have a wedding dress for your wedding. Good luck!
  15. That dress is stunning!!! Congrats on finding your dream dress!
  16. I think thats a brilliant way to get your guests addresses. You could write a cute little note explaining addresses are needed to send wedding invitations. Then you dont have to try to track everyone down to find out addresses.
  17. We were married in Jamaica and had an amazing time!! It is a great place for a destination wedding!
  18. I guess this is something I never even considereing for my wedding. I had told my now husband that I didnt want him drinking alot before the ceremony and he probably passed this on to his groomsmen. I think its just common respect when you are apart of someones wedding you dont drink in excess the day before or the day of, until all the formalities, such as ceremony, photos ect are finished. I would just talk to your fiance and having him have a little chat with his side of the wedding party and you can chat with your side.
