I think you need to sit down with your parents and explain that you do not need to entertain your guests. It is your wedding and you should not be embarrased!! Thats not right! Maybe you need to explain to your parents how you are feeling about everything and express your wishes. Also, the slideshow is a very common thing where I'm from. Every wedding I have been to has had one, but once again, its your wedding and you need to do what you want to do, not what others want you to do!

Congrats on getting half way there! Now that you picked the location you just need to pick the resort! We are also using Merrick Cousley as our photographer. We love his pics and found his prices and packages to be the best value.

Check with your TA. Our TA got in contact with the resort and requested for us to all be in the same section and explained we were a group for a wedding and she said they have placed us all in the same section, confirmed with the resort.

I'm really happy we chose this resort! I have personally known a few people who were married here in the last few years and they said it was great. Not to mention a free wedding package! Can't beat that!

Welcome, and congrats on your recent engagement! For us the most stressful part was picking a location and then the resort. The most helpful thing we did was sit down and make a list of what is important to us, for example, resort size (small vs large), things to do at the resort, price range, wedding package prices, and wedding locations. From there, we were able to pick a location, Jamaica, and then a resort, The Gran Bahia Principe. We chose it because it fit exactly what we were looking for and was still affordable for our guests. We also worked with a TA quite a bit before choosing our location. Once we had narrowed it down to Jamaica, she recommended about 5 resorts that we researched further and were able to chose our dream resort. Good luck!

LOVE these! I think I may have to attempt to make these. I used to make something similar when I was younger for my binders. I guess its kind of the same idea but smaller!

I use the battery operated LED ones in my home and they last forever!! We are also going to use them for our wedding, I think they look just as good, without any of the hassle or the wind blowing them out or burning something down!

Has anyone gotten married and had the steel drum band? I'm having a hard time justifying spending $400 dollars for an hour. Just curious if you thought it was worth it or not?

We are also going to bring two ipods, just in case something happens to one!
