  1. We're getting legally married next Monday, and our DW is not for 5 more weeks. I'm excited though!
  2. Here are our DIY STDs. I loved the colors because I felt like they screamed Mexican fiesta!
  3. Congratulations!! Your dress is gorgeous!! And everything else looks beautiful!! Your kids are adorable!! I'm admiring your earrings and your bouquet!! Just beautiful! I love Etsy too but I try not to be on it too much or I'll be buying everything I can think of and go off track!! Heh heh. Thanks for sharing!!
  4. You could always take a look at the jewelry/bead section at Michael's and see if they have any charms with those elements. I think most of them will be easy to find except for maybe agua. Otherwise, I'd take a look at the rubber stamp section and see if they have stamps with those elements on them. My last suggestion would be maybe buying the letter stamps and doing the spelling out yourself. I know it's a bit of work though. They also do have letter stickers, so I guess it would just be a matter of how much work you want to do or how much you want to spend. Good luck!
  5. Joanne - I just read this post on another site about tipping. Makes me think twice about all the tipping we talked about. I'll have to talk it over with my fiance. But some of these points make sense, like the photographer! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/76104/how-much-do-we-tip-the-wedding-coordinator#post_1678968
  6. The list was helpful. Thanks for sharing that info. Where did you find it? I was prepared to tip everyone too!! I'll have to discuss with fiance and see what he thinks. But the point about the photographer makes sense!
  7. I don't know if they're the ones that you're looking for but I've seen an assortment of battery operated candles at Target and at Marshalls. Not necessarily bulk but I guess you could always clear the shelves. You can also check out this site. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/ It has tons of everything on it, including battery-operated candles and all sorts of lighting options. Good luck and happy planning!
  8. I think this is absolutely fantastic! I wish I hadn't bought my flip flops already because I would have totally bought these, not just for their looks but for the contribution to a worthy cause!!! Thanks for sharing though!! I've bookmarked the page as I will probably return to the site to purchase one later on down the line.
  9. Congratulations! Love the ruffled layers on your dress! Absolutely beautiful!
  10. I meant to say that we don't have a bridal party. Too many things going on in my head.
  11. I'm starting to compile my lists. Have the ceremony pretty much sorted. Cocktail hour and dinner music lists are half done - need fiance's input and some of his music. For dinner, I really would prefer to put in mostly spanish guitar music, new flamenco, and things like that -- songs that are upbeat, have few words, but keep people on the track to groove. Not sure if I have enough to fill up my dinner playlist. But I'm also waiting to get fiance's input and some of his music since all this is being done through my music alone for now. I'm sure my parents won't really enjoy a lot of my music so I'll put some slower, "calmer" songs in for their benefit. Heh heh. But my priority is to keep the upbeat tone starting with cocktail hour and make it feel like a party! As for the party music after dinner, I'm still waiting on my guests' input before I finish my list as I've created a group on FB where they can contribute song requests. This way I know for sure there'll be at least 3 songs being played that each person would want to dance to! We don't have any groomsmen so we just decided to get our mothers some nice jewelry from Swarovski. Still thinking about our fathers.

  13. You might want to pack some extra materials that you used for all your DIY projects. I'm packing extra shells so that if some of them on my table number markers break, I'll still have a bunch to glue back on with the handy-dandy glue gun you reminded me to pack! I'll probably also bring extra ribbon and extra -blank- escort cards and some markers. That way if for some reason I've forgotten people or something gets ruined or broken, I can write up an extra or two.
  14. What a beautiful dress! I can't wait to see what it looks like on you! Love the color!
  15. Well, sounds like you'll have some good feedback in a few weeks. Good luck!
  16. There are a gazillion color combinations you could choose so you'd probably want to start with what colors you like. Do you like a lot of color? Bright colors? Toned down colors? Blues? Reds? Greens? There's a thread here where people have posted what colors they're using: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/40135/poll-what-are-your-colors The other way to go is probably to do an image search on Google for "Beach wedding ceremonies" or "Beach wedding receptions". Take a look at the pictures and see which ones you like (and what colors they contain). Another alternative is to check out the "Wedding Planning Journal" threads on this forum. People have posted pictures of their wedding planning and all the decor, outfits, and colors that have gone into it. There are so many threads on this forum that have inspiration photos and such. Just set aside a day or something, lol! There's tons of info on here.
  17. Sounds like a nice location! If Los Cabos didn't work out for us I wanted to get married on Sanibel Island in Florida. I've never been to St. Pete's Beach but I've been to Sanibel and I love it there! Guests can stay on the island or in Fort Myers and the surrounding areas where I think prices for lodging are reasonable. I don't know if that's too far south for you but just a thought. Good luck and happy planning!
  18. You look gorgeous! I tried on that dress and it was one of my favorites, but I didn't look nearly as good as you did in it! I wanted something more flowy too. Love your jewelry and your hair-do! Everything was just beautiful! What fun! Thanks for sharing!
  19. I must agree too with the other ladies. The front of 1 and the back of 3, although I wish I could see the back of 2 because it looks different. As for the french braid, I think it makes the look too casual for a wedding in my opinion.
  20. Beautiful dress! Looks gorgeous on you! I like all the texture on it!
  21. I'm planning on tipping everyone - the w/c, the bartender at our open bar, the people bussing the dishes (we are having a buffet so there will be no wait staff), and the vendors. Putting them in separate envelopes is a good idea. I should do that.
