  2. Nope. I couldn't survive the competition aspect...lol! Would you ever audition for American Idol?
  3. Great blog! Affirmation for all my DIY projects!
  4. 11/11/11 in Los Cabos, Mexico!
  5. Congratulations ladies! I'm in Long Island and getting married in Los Cabos this November. Bought my dress already - at Macy's Bridal Salon. Haven't done any other shopping really except shoes and invitation stuff at Michaels. Trying to figure out what jewelry I want to wear but am having a difficult time with that.
  6. That's a gorgeous dress! Thank goodness you didn't settle!!
  7. Hello ladies! I've been posting on several November bride threads and I think one of them was the wrong one. Oops! Anyway, I know this one is correct, lol! I'm getting married on 11/11/11 in Los Cabos, Mexico, on the beach - ceremony and reception will all be right there on the sand! I'm very excited but anxious at the same time! I didn't realize how overwhelming it would be to plan a wedding in a different country! But nonetheless things are going as well as can be expected. I made my own STDs and am going to begin working on my invitations next month and place cards too -- all DIY projects. After that I'll do my guestbook which is another DIY project. I bought my dress in December and am waiting for it to come in; I also have my shoes; we have a caterer (waiting for a menu) and a photographer. We are currently consulting a florist and looking for someone to do our cake. We're still thinking about the music and will most likely use our iPod for at least the reception music . We'd like to get a live band maybe for the ceremony, but we'll see. Stumped on what jewelry to wear so I've decided to wait until my dress comes in. That's about it for now. And I think this dress is absolutely lovely!!
  8. The other dresses are pretty but I think the one you bought fits you most beautifully. You should stick with it!
  9. I'm Korean, born and raised in Malawi (Africa); my fiance is Chilean -- Spanish, French, and Mapuche Indian mix.
  10. Okay, I saw the dress on the other thread. It's beautiful! Got some sparkle to it as well. Nice! Is there another dress you have in mind? Or you just haven't decided yet? I've read a lot about Suzanne Morel in the forums. I'm doing my own make-up but I've been wondering about hair. We'll see. Will look forward to seeing what you decide this weekend regarding your dress!
  11. Thanks for letting me know! I'll keep your florist in mind. I was referred to Floreria Rayen by another bride here on BDW so we're emailing her. She seems really nice, and we're waiting on an estimate from her. Hopefully that'll work out for us!
  12. Hello! I saw your post on the Cabo wedding forum about the cost for guests. Perhaps it's because your wedding takes place during the "high" season? I think March is still considered high season; the closer to summer it gets, the lower the hotel prices there in Cabo should be since the weather gets quite hot. So that might be part of the reason why it's so expensive. It looks like your guests are flying from the East Coast so if you want to look at other locations you might want to consider somewhere in the Caribbean -- like Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica. Maybe they'll have better packages since they're closer. I considered Puerto Rico prior to selecting Cabo as my DW site. If you still would like to do Cabo, you might want to consider moving your wedding date to a time where it's more reasonable. I am doing a non-AI resort wedding so it's a bit anxiety-provoking at times but it's definitely cutting costs for both myself and my guests. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll see if I can be of more help to you! Good luck!
  13. I had this debate with myself but I've decided I'll do real flowers. The real touch flowers I've seen on here though are beautiful. That's a thought! Good idea!
  14. If we don't end up having live music for the ceremony, I am thinking of walking down to either "It is You (I Have Loved)" from the Shrek Soundtrack or "At the Beginning" - Richard Marx & Donna Lewis. Not sure yet......still thinking! Michele: I really like "Better Together" and was thinking about doing that one during our sand ceremony too! Cool!
