They had a booth in the resort and their sample pictures just looked like something I could've taken with my camera. Not great quality and really no retouching or anything. Some were wedding pictures on display.

We had thought about getting engagement photos while we were down there but didn't care for their work so we decided against it.

I also ordered and was happy with my order! Very quick! Our dresses aren't in yet so Ibam just judging by a picture of a swatch but it looks pretty close in color. Not exact, but close enough.

What Claudy told me was that 4 people can come over for 3 hours before and that's it, and I can't get guest passes for the rest of the girls.

Also I'm wondering where everyone is getting ready on the day of. We have the Presential suite at the Royal, but since most of my bridesmaids, my parents, and aunts are staying at the Gran Caribe we can't get ready there. I will probably have about 12 people with me and I don't know if the regular rooms at the GCR are big enough. They said even if I bought them day passes, which would probably be too expensive anyways at $65 each, they aren't allowed in our room!

I am a little weary about doing anything over the phone because then you don't have it in writing. I've heard that sometimes when people get down there they have to show their emails to prove that they were told something when they are trying to say differently once they are there.

I'm looking at the extras and am wondering if anyone is adding the extra hour to their reception (not sure if I mentioned this before). My fiancé say he doesn't think its needed since we are at an all inclusive. I have mixed feelings because I understand where he is coming from, but at the same time it would be a little extra time with just our group. I'm torn!

Alicia, I've been working with Marvin and have had a great experience. He's very helpful with suggestions and his prices are reasonable. I put my deposit down the other day and confirmed him. So excited!

Hi Boston Bride, I'm also from the Boston area! I went to the Majestic Elegance (their sister resort) in 2009 with my fiancé and another couple. The resort was awesome but all 4 of us did end up having stomach issues, some worse than others. I didn't drink the water and used bottled water to brush my teeth. Looking back my guess is that the fresh fruit and salads we ate were probably washed off in the water and that's what happened. I continued to have stomach problems for a few weeks after we got home. This is why we excluded the DR from places to chose from for our wedding. We are getting married in Cancun. We have been there twice now and haven't and any issues. If you do decide to do the DR my suggestion is to use probiotics before you go and stay away from anything you think would've been washed in the water. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Hi, My bridesmaids dresses are Bill Levkoff in Glacier and I've been having a difficult time find matching ties. One of the ties they have looks perfect. I'm debating about ordering. Hopefully someone on here has used this site. If not, maybe I'll have to take a chance and see how they look.

So I had my 2 cousins as my maids of honor (one maid of honor and one matron of honor). My maid of honor Caity has been really helpful and really supportive. My matron of honor Nicky has really been negative and hasn't been there as much as she should (even called the salon to order her dress instead of coming with me to try it on, on a day that she was right around the salon anyways). She was also not going to come to, or help plan my bachelorette because she "couldn't afford it" (even though that doesn't explain why she refused to help plan). Then she went out and decide to book one of the most expensive suites at the resorts for herself. Don't get me wrong I totally think people should get whatever room they want but she's complained about money for everything then gets an expensive room. Everything that we had to do by a certain date she waited until the last min after I had to remind her multiple times and would give me excuses that just added more stress for me. For example i had been telling my girls for 2 months that the date they had to put a deposit down on their dress and get measured by was Dec 15th. As i mentioned above she wouldn't meet up with me to get measured and said she was calling with her size and to pay. I reminded her a week before. Then the morning of the day it was due i texted her again to remind her. Not only was she not reminding the other girls like my other cousin Caity, but she responded saying she forgot and didnt have the money so she couldnt do it until next week even though she knew it had to be ordered that day. I had to tell her that this was the date the salon gave me and unfortunately if you cant get the dress then you cant be in the wedding. Then she says well I'll just use my husbands credit card and pay him back. If she could easily do that I don't understand putting the added stress on me of having to worry about it, and having to tell her that she couldn't be in the wedding I she didn't order it. Well her and my maid of honor got into a fight when she called Nicky out on not doing anything then complaining that she wasn't included. So my cousin Nicky quit. She's decided that she will come as a guest only, and I'm really not sure how to feel. I just think that she tries to make everything about her and isn't happy when it isn't, and that maybe it is for the best, but it still kind of stings. No, Claudy Che is my coordinator and it almost always takes her at least a week to respond though she has her hours posted and works 6 days a week 8 hours a day..lol. I contacted her supervisor to ask what the response time should be and she said 48 hours. She told me she would talk to Claudy but it hasn't gotten any better.

I also noticed that the classic catholic package was missing. I asked my coordinator about the menu. She said it's for brides who book after Dec 2012, so I asked if this new menu is available for us as well and am waiting on a response. So I'll probably hear back in about a week! That's her typical response time, on a good week.

Did anyone else notice that they have completely changed the menus? We went down and did a site visit and food tasting and I was on the site and just happened to notice. Don't get me wrong some of the choices sound good, maybe better than the originals I picked, but my wedding coordinator should've told me and I feel like the food tasting was a waste.:confused:

Lori, I'm not sure if it's still the same now, but we were in a similar situation where we wanted to book and were doing a site visit a little while later. They only charged $200 to hold your date. We decided to do it and were willing to lose the $200 if we didn't love it. If you had already put your deposit down the food tasting was free, but they charged a fee if not. For us it was worth it after a lot of research on here to take the chance to make sure we got our date. Like Mary said, research is key.
